Thanks... I hadn't added Noel yet because I asked him about posting his information, and at first he said he wasn't ready to advertise again. I asked him again after receiving my shirt, and got no response about it.
I'm not sure if he would mind or not, but I guess it couldn't hurt to go ahead and do it at this point. We can always take it down, if he wants.

Thanks guys! The sculpted pockets on those pants are about the best I have seen on a close-enough. The color may be off, being just khaki.... but that can be fixed. Same with the color of the shirt, which looks good... even without the pleats. The price isn't bad either. I added both links, so thanks again. Ken

The only thing I wonder about with the shirt that I provided the link for is it's texture. It says it's Cotton canvas which makes me think it might have a different look to it in person and not the normal dress shirt type texture of the regular Indy shirts.
Other than that I think the shirt looks really good and well made. What color dye would you use to correct the color with that khaki on the shirt though?

I certainly don't claim to be an expert on color correction with clothes, and I would have to see it in person to tell for sure. But, if it's not too dark of a khaki color, a little Rit Pearl Grey might balance it out. If it's too dark, Rit Color Remover should lighten it up enough or take it back to near white. Then it's a combo of 1 bag of Taupe and 1/2 bag of Pearl Grey.
Again, these are just what I would try... and are certainly open to other interpretations.

Is there any other places for close enogh pants???

That depends on your definition of close enough. Any place we have found that sells pants that have all of the following, qualify as close-enough Raiders pants:
Color Pleats Back Pocket Flaps No Cuffs
This combination is hard to find, so many folks settle for a pair that has 2 or 3 of those items. Color is obviously the most important thing, but... slightly more tan or khaki colors work for TOD, LC, or just a general sense of Indy. You can find pants that are a decent Raiders color, that maybe have pleats, at most department stores. Toss in the back pocket flaps, and/or no cuffs, and the search gets much, much harder.
It all depends on how close you want them to be, or how much money you want to spend.

Ok, so I have a Todd's shirt (aka What Price Glory) and I'm not happy with it anymore. I've emailed Noel Howard, but I haven't gotten a response yet. And from the looks of the "current" prices, the NH shirt is $115. The Wested shirt is $77.95. Unless NH has lowered the price, do you think I should go with a Wested shirt? Please help me!

Thanks Ramiel, I'm using a Blackberry to access internet (because I'm at work). I'll check from my home computer in the morning with Firefox.

It must be the Blackberry, since it works just fine on IE 7 as well.

Yep it was. For some reason the blackberry would show the tan parchment background but nothing else. Worked fine on my PC.

Thanks for the info. I think I've seen this one before, but thought it was too pricey to be considered as an option.... (you can buy Todd's shirt for less, and Marc's AB shirt for near that price... I think).
But, since it is an option that might work well for some folks, I'll be glad to go ahead and add it to the lists.
Thanks much,
Ken

The reason I think it is more expensive than the others is that it is a much heavier weight than the LL Bean, so if Todd's and Marc's are similar in weight to the LL Bean, than the Orvis would be heavier than those as well. Also, there are some features on it like the sleeve fold-up buttons that don't exist on the other shirts. The only issue with it is that it might be too heavy for warmer weather wear, and it is really a safari shirt, as opposed to an "Indy-style" one. But I felt it was "in the ballpark", and worth a look.

At this point in time, December 7, 2008, I would like to know where I can purchase the very best, highest quality, screen accurate, etc. etc., etc., Indy shirt and Pants. Price is not really a consideration. From what I've been able to gather, a Noel Howard shirt is the best (can't find any for sale: I need an XL) and the best pants are from Wested. Is this true? Is it also true that Wested is going to exactly duplicate NH's shirt? If so, does anyone know when that will be? Also, if anyone has an XL NH shirt they would like to sell to me I am in the market. Sorry for all the question, but I really just want to cut to the chase and say where do I go right now, this minute, for the best of the best as far as Indy pants and shirt go?
I have a pair of Alden's; the standard off the shelf, modern day, brick color. Advice is they take a bit to break in, a good bit. However, they do not really stretch out with wear or stretching at a shoe repair shop. Make absolutely sure you get them large enough (length and width). I normally wear a 10 1/2 U.S. off the rack shoe, but went to a Alden's and came away with a 9" triple X. On the standard, every shoe stores got em, metal adjustable, shoe sizer, I have a 9/12 on the nose. The salesman told me they run 1/2 a size big and sold me a 9. I can barely wear them with a dress sock. Yes I tried them on, but was told they were of good leather and would stretch. Not so. Don't drink the Kool-Aid, they don't stretch. They don't. Whatever, my fault. So here's my advice. Go up a 1/2 size (it will help with swelling and bending through-out the day) from what the metal thingy says your size is while wearing the sock you plan on wearing with the boot. Once you get them, you can distress them with a wire welding brush and add several coats of neatsfoot oil. This will darken them to brown and they look incredible. You will really dig it.
