Well, I just recieved my latest Expedition today from G&B. I was so fond of my other 2 that I ordered a 3rd one. Yes, I am crazy. A grand total of 6 Indy Jackets and most likely my final one, unless something happens to my Wested. Just wanted to share my exitement with you. Cheers, John

John you're an addict. But in your defence you had to buy a sixth jacket...5 is an odd number. Everyone knows you can't have an odd number of jackets. Well then again, you could buy one more to make it 7...yes it's an odd number but then you can have one for every day of the week. Back in the early 90's when my band was touring I could play a new guitar everyday and never play the same one twice in a month. I have since thinned the herd. SO I know where you're coming from. ;D

John, You truly are a gearhead my friend! I thought you canceled that order, but then again...you have placed orders for so many things over the past few months, that I may just be mistaken. Glad to hear that is arrived in good order, and I look forward to some photos of it with the AB Deluxe! Ken

Another "Expedition"? NICE! This last one was lamb also? The G&Bs are nice jackets. Lee Keppler has one and was nice enough to let me try it on for size last time he was out this way. They really are great, sturdy jackets. The biggest obstacle for me is the $428 price tag they put on it. If I ran into a windfall of money I'd definitely pick one of these up. Lucky you, G-MANN, you've got three. I won't put any stuff on credit card so things like the jacket at this price are steep for me. (I'm not saying they're not worth it cause they are built to last, but with less expensive options on a good Indy from other sources, that works better for me.) I'd like to clarify that if I won an Expedition or had the extra cash available, I'd JUMP at owning a brand new Expedition. They're just outside of my "Indy Fandom Level" price range is all. But they are sweet! No doubt. The Wested goat ain't so shabby for me. Congrats, G-MANN.

That's a sweet looking jacket. You could wear something like that for almost any occassion. I really like those scalloped pocket flaps but prefer the huge pockets on the Westeds. I use those pockets so much they're like my man purse.

G,
I can NOT wait to get one of these jackets. Thanks for the pics.
Question: Do you think its true , from what I've heard, that F/S sizes seem run a size larger than the Westeds?
I wear a 42 Wested and have been planning on ordering a size 40 F/S (with longer sleeves).
Your thoughts?

Now This looks like "THE" Jacket to me nice pictures !!! Those were my EXACT thoughts the moment I opened the box and took the Jacket out. I still feel that way today. ALABAMA, I Owe you an appology. I missed your post in this thread a LONG time ago. My G&B's seem to be the correct size for what they are listed as. Not larger as some folks seem to think. Cheers, G-MANN

Thanks guys! G-MANN, I could not be MORE pleased with this jacket. At first it fit like my 42 Wested lamb 80's fit. This one's a 40 reg goat, so after some crinkling and tumble drying damp it shrunk down to the perfect snug fit I prefer in a Raiders jacket. And accuracy, my gosh, collar, pleats, pockets etc... all Raiders like IMO, without having to order. Only thing missing is the X-box stitch and that can be added. Love my Wested, but I'm firmly in the Flightsuits corner (accuracy and quality second to none) and personally believe its great to have both! by the way here's a yoke comparison with the Wested 80's fit. Judge for yourself. FS on left, Wested right. I'll try to get some pics of me wearin soon.

Alabama, Those both look great. I am starting to get the feeling that once a fan actually gets thier hands on a G & B they can appreciate it much more. All I know is I'm sold on them. I'll be looking forward to seeing yours in action Cheers, G-MANN

There's something about that G&B that has the same effect as the NH shirt. Something just says "IT!" about it. Beautiful jacket, 'Bama! Yours too, G-Mann. In my case in particular I'm starting to think that for the price of getting a Wested right, it would have been worth just picking up the "one" from the start. What did Belloq say? Something about - "It's beooootiful!"

Well, I can't say I can see much of a difference between the Wested and NH shirt off hand but I can see the GB jacket seems to look softer and drape better that the Wested jacket. I'm going by the way my goat looks in comparison. It will probably take forever for my jacket to loosen up and look the way that one does right off of the rack.
I'd say for the price these are going for that you shouldn't expect anything less.
I'm still waiting to see Todd's jacket. Who knows it may blow this one out of the water.

Tone: Thanks! if you're as patient and calculating as a Sith you may be able to get one of these off Ebay for half price. Yes, I was lucky enough to get it for considerably less than my Wested. Harry: As noted above its used, but if you wad your newer goat into a ball and tumble dry the heck out of it, it will break it in beautifully! I forgot to mention how the standard elastic lining ensures the pleats open and close as they should. Great jacket! And thats, in no way to diminish Wested, up there with Morgan and HJ IMO. I do feel the FS is worth it and would now pay full price for a new one without batting an eye.

Your jacket looks new in those pics. I never would have thought about looking around EBay for one of those. Wouldn't it shrink the jacket even on tumble dry? How long would you do it and how many times? I have thought about sleeping in the jacket a few times because I've heard that works. After I used the Fuller's Earth and let it sit on the jacket for a while it seemed to soften up the jacket a little somehow.......it's kind of weird. Anyway, glad to hear not only did you get one of these but you got it for less than a Wested.

Every time I see that jacket of your's John I go over to the GB site and want to place an order. It's only when I realize it's the jacket or the car payment that I don't. I can't drive to work in an Indy jacket...but I could drag to work behind a truck in one. One serious question. Is the GB a "thin" jacket? The US Wings jacket I picked up from you is GREAT in this weather we are having now, but a bit too heavy for the spring & summer.

The G&B lambskin IS a thin jacket. I would say it is definately a "fair" weather jacket. The goat they make is a little heavier, but I wouldn't say it is a winter jacket, either. 'Blues
