Here's another story link: Harrison Ford Says He's Ready For Indiana Jones 5entertainment.blogs.foxnews.com/2009/09/14/harrison-ford-says-hes-ready-for-indiana-jones-5/?test=facesHarrison Ford may turn 70 in three years, but it sounds like he's ready to put on the old fedora and brave the snakes as Indiana Jones at least one more time.
"The story for the new Indiana Jones is in the process of taking form," Ford told France's Le Figaro magazine. "Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth adventure will concern, and George is actively at work. If the script is good, I'll be very happy to put the costume on again."
Ford reprised his role in last year's "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" after a 13-year hiatus. Shia LaBouef played Jones' son Mutt in series' fourth installment, and he also recently told the BBC, "Steven [Spielberg]'s just said that he's cracked the story."
Now all the need is to get Sean Connery back! Flashbacks maybe?Ken

If they'll pay Ford to make another Indy movie, he'll make it. Having a good script certainly wasn't a requirement for making Indy 4, even though he said it was then as well. If Lucas has the main idea down, it's going to happen.
The only hope is that Lucas and Speilberg have paid attention to all the major backlash they received for Indy 4 and decide to make this one differently. We all know the sorts of changes they should make, so I'll spare the list. I just don't trust these fabulously wealthy people to "listen" to the people that helped make them that way.
I welcome the chance to be proven wrong, however.

I know I just can't wait either. It's so good to hear some news again about Indy 5 that they have a story! It looks like they already have a macguffin. I wonder what it is?

I kind of got the feeling Ford did Indy 4 just to show people he could and to get back into the spotlight. I think he enjoyed the attention since he hadn't had a real blockbuster movie in years. He may come back for the same reason. He's certainly still capable and worthy of being given something better to work with.

Here's some of the info from the interview posted above by Noah: Ford Says Indy 5 is "Full of Opportunity"www.theraider.net/news/fullstory_indy5.php?id=1166Waiting for news on Indiana Jones 5 has been like the Grail Knight waiting for someone worthy to take his place but while it hasn't been 700 years, it sure feels like it! Finally we hear some news from the man himself! Harrison Ford premiered his latest film; Extraordinary Measures at his friend and frequent collaborator George Lucas's Letterman Digital Arts Center at the Presido (a building the actor joked that "he helped build"). While Ford's latest has him once again portraying a doctor and man of science, many fans and visitors to this site are really interested seeing him reprise his role as another certain "doctor" from his film past. No it isn't Dr. Richard Kimble or Dr. Richard Walker, but rather the Doctor of Archeology, and Assistant Dean at Marshall College namely Henry Jones, Jr. aka Indiana Jones.
When faithful fans last saw Ford wearing the fedora it was in 2008's, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, a film that was a box office success but left some Indyfans wanting more. Catching up with the famed Corellian star captain, MTVNews asked about what's next for Indiana Jones and would the star be up to the challenge; here are some excerpts from that conversation.:
"I don't think I'll do it in a wheelchair," the legendary actor grinned Friday (January 8). "George [Lucas] is working on an idea, and if it comes to a fruitful stage, all of us are very interested in making another." Ford is promising that the idea Lucas has for the fifth film is outrageous.
"Yeah," he said when reminded of a quote he gave saying that Lucas' idea was "crazy but great." Does he want to elaborate? "No," he responded.
"Some of the best ideas are crazy ideas, you know?" he conceded. "Well-wrought, well-manipulated."
"I think it would be interesting to advance the understanding of the character, as we always have had that ambition throughout the series," Ford said of what he needs to see in an Indy 5 script before he's willing to step on the gas like Short Round in a Shanghai taxi cab. "I think it would be interesting to deepen the relationship between he and his son [Mutt, played by Shia LaBeouf] and play on that relationship. .... It's full of opportunity. The series is full of opportunity."
When talk turned to the biggest character development of Crystal Skull — Indy's marriage to Marion Ravenwood — Ford seemed amused by the concept that anyone would find scenes of their wedded life as exciting as the series' trademark stunts.
"I think [scenes with a married Indy and Marion] would be nice grace notes," admitted the actor, who will next be seen in Extraordinary Measures, a January 22 drama. "We'll see what we come up with."
"Karen [Allen]'s a wonderful actress, I've always enjoyed working with her," he added. "I'm hoping that there'll be a part for all of us in the next one."Ken

I have a horrible feeling that George "Drunk on my Fame" Lucas is about to unleash the ulitmate suck! I wish I'd known about this place when KOTCS came out because I badly needed to vent after leaving the theater. What he needs is someone to tell him NO. But, maybe I'm wrong.

Ford says "If I am Alive, I will do Indy 5"www.theraider.net/news/fullstory_indy5.php?id=1172Harrison Ford has been jumping around the talk show and interview circuit promoting his new film; Extraordinary Measures and has been asked repeatedly the status of the fifth installment of Indiana Jones. Now while fans had to endure an 18 year development hell for the release of 2008's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Ford has spoken publicly on his desire to get on with it... sooner rather than later. Speaking to the print edition of Empire magazine and other sources Ford has said this:
"If we find a script and develop a story in less than the 18 years it took to make the last one, if I'm still alive, I'll make myself available," he said.
This coupled with remarks made by Karen Allen that Indy 5 should be in production in spring of 2011 (see the IndyCast #94 podcast flickr page) has made us believe that they are definitely doing their best to give us at lease one more epic ride with everyone's favorite archeologist!Ken

Well, I've certainly got my issues with KOTCS (though not quite as many as you, Ken! ) but nothing in it can squelch my goodwill towards the series or future instalments so if they do go ahead with this one then CAN'T WAIT!

'Germ of an idea' for fifth Indiana Jones filmnews.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/entertainment/newsid_10050000/newsid_10058500/10058528.stmHarrison Ford says an idea for the storyline for the fifth Indiana Jones film has been agreed.
The Hollywood actor says he, director Steven Spielberg and writer George Lucas have come up with a rough outline for the follow-up to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
He said: "Steven [Spielberg] and George [Lucas] and I are sort of agreed on a germ of an idea and we're seeing what comes of it."
The last Indiana Jones film made more than £500m around the world and introduced Transformers actor Shia LaBeouf to the franchise.
Harrison Ford, 67, says despite coming up with an idea for the movie, people won't see the finished product for some time.
"The process works like this," he said. "We come to some basic agreement and then George goes away for a long time and works on it.
"Then Steven and I get it in some form, some embryonic form.
"Then if we like it we start working with George on it and at some point down the line it's ready and we do it."
The first Indiana Jones film, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, was released in 1981 with two follow-ups released in 1984 and 1989 before a gap of 19 years until 2008's Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Ken

If it took them that long to come up with that pile known as Crystal Skull, then what can we expect from a script that's cranked out in a couple of years. I smell doom for Indy V, and not the good kind, as in TOD.
