LaBeouf Says Next Indiana Jones Moving Forward www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=56314In an interview with BBC News, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star Shia LaBeouf says that it looks like a follow-up to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is moving forward.
"Steven [Spielberg] just said that he cracked the story on it before I left and I think they're gearing that up," LaBeouf said. Last summer's blockbuster was made for about $185 million and earned $786.6 million worldwide. It was the second-highest earner of 2008, behind just The Dark Knight.
LaBeouf also briefly talked about the Wall Street sequel that teams him with director Oliver Stone and Michael Douglas. "'Money Never Sleeps' is, I think, the official title now," he said.Ken

Hope so, maybe they'll leave Shia at home to tend to the homefront while Harrison does the heavy lifting abroad this time. Can't bear to see Shia on the set again in more than the first 45 minutes of the film. They seriously need Uncle George to keep his fingers out of the mix this time and Spielburg needs to quit attempting to replicate his former film directing style, it didn't work auspiciously in the last film...IMHO, and that plot, oh my! Well, better sign off for now, anyhoow. They need a McGuffin like Raiders or Last Crusade for more blessings and illumination, IMHO.

A Wall Street sequel sounds really interesting especially with the state of the US economy these days. There's a lot of great dramatic material there. As for another KOTCS style Indy film, not so much.

Frank Marshall Confirms Indiana Jones 5www.theraider.net/news/fullstory_indy5.php?id=1102Crystal Skull co-star Shia LaBeouf's statements that Indy 5 was in the works, Indiana Jones film series producer, Frank Marshall confirms the report.
Speaking with Empire Magazine, Marshall had this to say about Harrison Ford's 5th big screen go around as the intrepid archaeologist:
"It's really about the script," Marshall said to Empire. "Once we see that, we'll see. We're not going to wait another 20 years. We'd all love to make another one. I'm anxious to hear the idea!"
UPDATE: Frank Marshall's latest Twitter message reads:
"The story for Indy5 is progressing. It is still in the research phase."
So there you have it Indyfans, Indy is preparing his whip and fedora for another big screen adventure. I am thinking that we will get more details at next month's ComicCon in San Diego. Let the story rumors begin!Ken

I enjoyed the KOTCS, and would welcome another chapter in the Indy mythos. They are all hokie on one level or another. I would like to see a better villain. Nothing against Blanchett, but I just didn't think she was as menacing as she could have been. She is a great actress though. If I had one recommendation, it would be to try and bring Larry Kasdan back into the fold as a screenwriter if they could get him. I still think his Raiders script has the most memorable lines of all of the movies (IMO).

Hold On, Indiana Jones 5 Isn't as Far Along as You Think!www.firstshowing.net/2009/06/18/hold-on-indiana-jones-5-isnt-as-far-along-as-you-think/So earlier this week, Shia LaBeouf let slip that Spielberg had "cracked a story" on Indiana Jones 5 and that "they're gearing that up." It was pretty big news, especially because some people were thinking we'd never see another one (despite the $787 million that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull made worldwide). However, that doesn't mean we'll be seeing it that soon. Empire talked with producer Frank Marshall recently, who told them that it's still in very early development. "Until there's a script, nothing's definite," he said. Don't expect to see this shooting by the end of the year… or even next year.
To give you an idea of where it's at in development, Marshall wrote on Twitter: "The story for Indy5 is progressing. It is still in the research phase." That just means they're still brainstorming and haven't written one line of the script yet. But no one wants to wait another 20 years to see a sequel (like we did after Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade came out in 1989). "Once we see that, we'll see. We're not going to wait another 20 years. We'd all love to make another one," Marshall said. "We had a great time making the last one and, as Harrison said, we need to make this one soon. We're not getting any younger." That's for sure!
So don't jump the gun on this sequel. With some luck, we could Indiana Jones 5 in 2011. But at this rate, I don't expect to see it until 2012 or even 2013. It's a long way out, sure, but maybe that'll give them some time to figure out a good story to tell in this one… or at least to cut out any monkeys or nukes.Ken
