well i was playing with my ioab again today since its sooooo nice out. I was getting some good cracks again. ITs nice not doing it all week and then pulling one off in my first try. Anyways, i was trying to whip with my left hand mainly to wear in my wested more, cause i ahve found the right arm is softer and more broken in from whipping. I was doing forward cracks, and i suddnely got the loudest pop ever! I tried a few more times and it happened everytime. I have found that i have learned many cracks by trying it left handed, because im not trying to put so much force into it, and the form comes out better. I have now found exactly where i should be flicking it forward to get the loud pops, and it kicks ass. Its true, i really dont need to use much force to produce the crack. I eventually learned with my right, but had to switch back and forth a few times to see what i was doing wrong. I also learned the flick like this to. I just found it weird that i could do them better with my left than my domminant right hand.

I have found that I tend to do really well with mine, after taking a few days away from it sometimes. I'm not sure if it's because my shoulder and arm is fresher, or that I am using a more pure technique, instead of a little habit of doing this or that, all in a row.
Bryan, you should make another video sometime too. We all enjoyed your last one, and not just because you made it funny either. It would be neat to see how far we've come since the earlier whip videos.
I never really try any of the trick styles, as I'm really only interested in using mine the way Indy did. I have gotten alot better in that regard though, and am able to be very active/mobile while doing it.

I've got to practice more with mine. It cracks when I do certain moves but I'm still having trouble with the overhead cracks and some of the other ones. I don't know if it's me or that the whip still needs breaking in. I don't use it everyday but I have noticed that it has "relaxed" a little from the previous practices.
I'll try and find a way to post a video soon.

harry, i just keep going for it, and finding out how to do it with trial and error. Everytime i think ive done the loudest crack...i do it 10 times louder. Overhead is weird, but when i throw the reverse crack in with the overhead, it works better. I used to make too much of an overhead circle, but by doing it like that, it makes me keep the whip striahgeter like im doing a forward crack.
And stinks about ur whip, i bought backup crackers for mine.

I just found it weird that i could do them better with my left than my domminant right hand. I just read this. Please understand the reason is that the whip itself is less important to me than the other adventure stuff so I haven't even read this until now. It's interesting what you said about snapping better with your left instead of your dominant hand, Indakin. (" Take my hand....my stroooooong hand." ;D) I have the same problem. I can snap with both, but the left just gets a cleaner snap and there's nowhere near as much force used to do it. Odd phenomenon, isn't it? I also don't have the best of whips right now and am considering getting either a Bernie (Loudest whip I've EVER heard) or a Celeste down the road. (I do think Celeste has a great price going for whips right now.) Givoanni Celeste? The one from Italy. That's funny, IndianaDirk, your fognet is not too far off from my Keppler.

I have my cracks louder with my left hand, too. Weirdest thing. Indakin, maybe you were inadvertantly doing a Coachman's crack instead of a forward crack, as those tend to be much louder than forward cracks.
