I know this might be old news to some, but I just discovered this. Any zombie fans out there might be interested.

To top off an already very exciting day, with the debut of the new Watchmen trailer as well as Kick-Ass photos, Variety has announced that Marc Forster will direct Paramount's adaptation of World War Z! This calls for celebration! Anyone who has ever read Max Brooks' novel knows that it's an amazing story that will make a great post-apocalyptic movie. Forster, who just directed Quantum of Solace, is an fantastic choice for director, especially if you've seen Quantum and know how capable he is at directing action. The adaptation was written by comic book author J. Michael Straczynski and will be produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment. This really is some of the best news to come out of Hollywood in a long time!
Back in March we ran an extensive article looking at the script, which deals with the world wide zombie epidemic known as World War Z. Max Brooks scours the world ten years after the end of the war collecting stories from those who survived the fight that almost eradicated humanity. It was described as Children of Men but with zombies, which is more than enough to get me excited, although Forster has somewhat of a different take. He explains that, "the genre always fascinated me, and when they pitched it to me, it reminded me of the paranoid conspiracy films of the '70s like All the President's Men." I'm very interested to see what he'll do with this - since I've become an even bigger Forster fan after Quantum of Solace.
If you have never read the book, be sure to pick up a copy right away! You won't stop reading it until it's done and will instantly become a fan of it as soon as you do. Anyone else excited for this?
