Indy didn't have a regular sidearm during the series...in fact none of the traditional gear we've come to know and love (gun, whip, shoulder satchel, leather jacket, etc.) figured into the show at all, except for the (bizarre looking) fedora which was worn from time to time. Young Indy did use a variety of small arms during certain adventures (in Mexico with Pacho Villa and later during his time in the Belgian Army during the Great War) but I haven't seen the show enough to have them all committed to memory, and none of them were "his" gun, if you know what I mean... (unlike the Webley or the Browning or the S&W he would carry years later)

GCR's right. I think just one of the reasons some have trouble buying into the Young Indy stories is the fact that the he seems to have so very little in common with the Indy of the movies in terms of gear and even attitude and behavior.

Thanks for the information there's only reason I want to know this for a fan film. I'm just wondering what fire arm Indy would have used in 1926 or what you would recommend for this part in the timeline I'm think Browning HP or Colt Peacemaker that Abner may have given him earlier on.

1926 is too early for the Browning HP but the Peacemaker would be an excellent choice. Those had been around for 50 years and were still carried by many cowboys and outdoorsmen.
