Gotta love Wested's washed goat - it's such a great hide. And now Wested offer the ROLA version (no inside facings etc) - I just got mine yesterday - here it is after a shower and scrunching treatment.

You really have a knack for making brand new jackets look nice and "lived in" quickly. I was hoping Wested would offer the ROLA version for the washed goat. I really love the look of the leather and I'm also liking the color of this hide...any chance of a few more pics?

Excellent! That is one sweet looking jacket! I especially like how that rich brown undertone tends to really jump out in certain lighting. Thanks for the extra pics, Pagey!

That Washed Goat is one really nice looking hide. Well done Nick. Now here's the $64.00 question. Is it a Keeper? Cheers, John

Nick,
How does the fit of this OTR jacket compare the the OTR Washed Goat that I bought from you?

Well it's a size bigger.

Why did you go a size bigger? I thought the reason you were selling the 42R in Auth. Goatskin was because the 40R fit you better? Still, how does it compare?

You're right - I did feel the reg goat was a little too large. However, after the Nowak, I realised I prefered a slightly looser fit and that it lent itself more to the look of the film jacket. The new washed goat doesn't feel as baggy on me as the reg goat - maybe this has sometihng to do with it being a softer and drapier (?) hide, or the lack of facings and lack od shoulder pads?? The fit feels spot on this time and I'm convinced that no inside facing is essential for a Raiders jacket.

Ah, so do you think if you had ordered this jacket in a 40R, that it would've been too small for you? Or is it only because you like the extra room? How is the fit in the upper arms? These OTR's are the slimmer, 80's type fit, aren't they?

I'd say the cut and fit are exactly the same as the OTR I sent to you - just that this is a size larger. It's not a huge amount - just half an inch or so here and there, but it does make me feel that the 40 was a little too small afterall.

C'mon John - who'd believe me if I said "yes" ;D Although I do believe it is... In the end, it's your money and only you can say what you're truly satisfied with.... even if only for a shirt period of time. Whatever makes you happy is what you should keep doing. Also, I agree that an unlined stormflap would make a big difference in how the jacket drapes while being worn. It's funny that something so trivial can make or break the look, but all those little things add up. Ken

I have a stupid question. In TLC was the jacket made out of lambskin ? Wested made the jackets for LC and Raiders, so yes it was lambskin as well. Ken

Pagey, couple of questions: since you've owned both, is the ROLA washed goat less warm than the Standard washed goat? Or is it just thinner in the cut? Also, I'm thinking about getting the OTR washed goat ROLA and I've read that their sizes don't match the measurements listed on the site. The sleeves and back are a bit longer? Can anyone tell me what those measurements would be on a 40R OTR ROLA washed goat, please? KT? If anyone has one of these, what's the actual chest measurement also? Thanks! Great looking jackets!

The only difference I can tell is the lack of inside facings on the ROLA- which is of great benefit to the drape of the jacket. Everything else, including the cut, seems just the same. Except that I went for a size up this time. Certainly one is not warmer than the other.
