That was a pretty good episode. Adam Savage certainly has a screen accurate looking Raiders hat. (Adventurebilt?) Overall, no surprises. I actually think their version of the motorcycle flip stunt looked better than the one in Last Crusade. The one in LC is so obviously launched with explosives with way too much smoke evident.

I DVR'd this and just got through watching some parts of it. I agree it was a good episode (I don't watch the show a whole lot, though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt). I'm betting the hat is either an AB or ABD. I paused a few shots where the bow was visible (the only real external difference between the two hats, aside from slight variations in color and blockshape, is the little touches that Marc and Steve do to the "flying V" on their bows) and it looks similar to the more pronounced flying V's on my AB Deluxes (the flying V on the regular AB is more subtle). Then again, it looks like Adam tweaked the bash a bit on his hat anyways, so it's possible he might have messed around with the bow as well and it could in fact be a regular AB. As far as the motorcycle stunt goes, I never realized that the ol' stick in the spokes trick wouldn't actually make the bike flip. I also never realized they pulled off that stunt in LC by propelling the bike up in the air with explosives. Of course it seems pretty obvious to me now. ;D

Nope, no fridge. In fact the only Indy "myth" they covered was the motorcycle flip from Last Crusade. They also had a piece about escaping from prison by climbing down the prison wall using a rope made from different material. They had a rope made from bedsheets, human hair and toilet paper. Surprisingly they all worked. But the only Indy thing was the bike flip...I do believe they covered the Temple of Doom raft jump on a much older episode, though.

The hat is an ABD that Adam bought from someone on RPF.

Yep, they did the raft jump and the awning jump from ToD in older shows. Both were found to be plausible.

Pretty cool. I'm still a bit surprised that the flipping bike stunt from LC was actually busted. I remember trying to recreate that scene as a kid, when me and a bunch of my friends would take turns riding our bikes down the street real fast, while the rest of us would throw heavy sticks at their spokes. We never got it to work either, which is probably a good thing, since none of us were wearing helmets. ;D

If you want to flip a bike end over end, just run it headlong into a ditch. Trust me. It works really well.

Or you can tell your younger sister to ride one of those adult tricycle bikes backwards down a steep gravel road, and tell her when she gets going to fast to squeeze the hand brakes but don't tell her the brakes on the back tires, let her figure that out herself. Then sit back and watch the fun

Actually, the "escaping a prison wall with some kind of rope" could be connected to Indy - a Young Indy episode, where he was imprisoned in some German castle together with Charles de Gaulle ...
