Here are some comparison pics of Wested's washed and regular goat. Both jackets are OTR rather than custom. The washed goat (left) is a size 40 and the regular goat is a size 42. Curiously they have the same length. I'm absolutely sold on the washed goat. It's so soft and drapey and still feels tougher than a regular lamb jacket. It doesn't have the plasticy feel that most goat jackets, including the regular from Wested, tend to have. I've only worn it for 10 days and already it looks more broken in than the regular goat that I wore for several months. I think it's Wested's best option if you're after the Raiders look.

Great looking jackets, both are OTR's? Impressively similar looking.
I'm very keen on the washed goat. I've not yet had a goat from Wested, they were too thick or had that shininess that I didn't like. In the same way I felt the washed lamb was too thin.
That WG really cuts a good few months/years of 'natural distressing' time out it's a real find.
I have a washed goat in the works... hopefully I haven't outgrown it! LOL

Thanks for posting this. Seeing them side by side and in the same lighting really shows off the differences. To my eyes, the washed goat looks darker and more grey in color which I like.

how much did you pay for it ? Does the wash goat run small ? I wear a usa size 42r but if the washed goat run just a little bit large maybe I need to order a medium.

Pagey,
The washed goat looks nice! In your opinion, how are Wested's OTR sizes? True to size? And how's the fit in the waist? I usually have to order an 80's fit in 40R because of my 31" waist, but the last time I did that with Wested, it was a bit too snug in the shoulder area. I'm thinking of just getting the G&B goatskin, but if Wested's fit is spot on, the I may as well save $200, right?

KT,
You're probably right, but Todd's not even in the running this time out...and I did check the exchange rate -- about a $200 difference...

hello, i am considering buying the special offer raiders washed goat jacket, and was wondering how different it is from the other raiders special offer jackets. The other special offer jakctes have this on the description:
"There are no inside leather facings, the body is slimmer and the sleeves more tapered. The zip is a smaller 5 gauge nickel and the action pleat depth is narrower with two piped inside pockets."
Does it still apply for the washed goat? I'd prefer a slimmer cut, and love the washed goat look, so just being sure this is the case is the only thing stopping me fro pulling the trigger on this one.
Cheers
