Hey all, I am like brand new to this website so I hope I make these photos work. This is my Smith and Wesson M1917. I got it at a gun show in Atlanta by pure luck. I wasnt even looking for it. It was at a small table in the back corner with a guy that says he goes to 1 or 2 gun shows a year. It was the only gun he had, everything else was accessories. Its beautiful and he gave me the orginal leather holster with it. The gun shows wear like Indy's gun would because it actually has the wear. It was used in WWI! The best part is the real wooden grips and Smith and Wesson seal on the grips. it gets a great reaction every range I take it too, it was a great find. If you look at the photos to the right of where it says smith and wesson there are little stamps in the barrel. That is the seal that the British Army put on it. We gave them the gun at the start of WWI during our Lend/Lease program. It was before we were in the war but we were "lending" weapons to England, this was one of them. The stamps signify each time they inspected it. The gun is in great condition though, the rifiling inside is great and it shoots awesome! I have had it for a a few months and probably put about 600 rounds through it so far, works great!!

That's a great looking gun and a pretty rare find. Is it still chambered for 455 or has it been modified?

nah! it's easy. All you need is a screwdriver and a pin that is the right size. I shaved down a cut down nail and it worked perfectly. It took me about 5 min.
