Nice find PH. It looks like Indy may once again be treading on territory already covered by adventurers before him. Ken

Well, here's the description listed above the trailer.
Filmed on location in South Africa, a retelling of H. Rider Haggard’s classic novel "King Solomon's Mines," featuring the adventurer who was the inspiration for Indiana Jones.
To me it just sounds like this is the King Solomon's Mines story only it's been renamed.
I watched the trailer and quite frankly it doesn't really give any of the plot away at all. It's just a bunch of action shots.

Looks like a low buck version of King Solomon's Mines with an Indyesque title. Still I'd watch it. There's something interesting about watching the same story retold in different ways. I think we can expect to see a lot of attempts to capitalize on Indy's fame in the coming months. For anyone who's interested, here's a list of original Allan Quatermain titles. Some of theses have been altered in later published versions. King Solomon's Mines (1885) Allan Quatermain (1887) Allan's Wife (1887) Maiwa's Revenge (1888) Marie (1912) Child of Storm (1913) The Holy Flower (1915) Finished (1917) The Ivory Child (1916) The Ancient Allan (1920) She and Allan (1920) Heu-heu: or The Monster (1924) The Treasure of the Lake (1926) Allan and the Ice-gods (1927) Hunter Quatermain's Story: The Uncollected Adventures of Allan Quatermain

As you might judge by my avatar (any comic readers here ), I'm a huge Quatermain fan. And honestly, I am not convinced by this trailer now. Of course I should wait until I saw the movie, but I have the feeling this is just another quick and cheap rip off of the great story Haggard wrote. Do you knew, that he was inspired by Col. Fawcett's travels through the Brazilian jungle? Since he had a closer relationship to the "Dark Continent" he set the adventure there instead of South America, but he was close friend to the Colonel.

Just to be clear to everybody, that's an Asylum film, and, well, Asylum are notorious for making really cheap knock offs of whatever film is going to be popular during the summer.
They've done such classics as 'Transmorphers' (guess when that was released), 'AVH: Alien vs Hunter' (again, guess), 'Pirates of Treasure Island', 'The Da Vinci Treasure', '100 Million BC', the list goes on and on, usually films with really similar titles to the big blockbusters as if just to con gullible parents, I assume, into buying the wrong film.
Okay, so they're small time film makers, and as a film student, I have sympathy, really, but knocking off big block busters is not the way to go. It seems pretty obvious to me this is just their latest attempt to cash in on Indy. Seriously, if you scroll through the list of films they've made, literally every single one's title is based on an existing film, and you can bet was released around the same time.
For that reason, I really wouldn't get your hopes up about it. Sorry to be so negative, but they're film makers that annoy me, because they've been going for quite some time now riding off the backs of whatever is popular.

Yeah, I've read a lot (though not all) of the Quartermain novels, and I recall nothing of a whip or a crystal skull. He wasn't really that much like Indiana Jones, though he was certainly an inspiration.
