Hi guys, I'm new to the site and the whole idea of destressing. What would happen to my wested washed goat if i soaked it in the bath tub and hung it to dry as i dont have a dryer would soaking it do anything at all to the fit? The jacket could do with shrinking a bit anyway and thats what i'm hoping for. I would be gratefull for any feedback. Thanks guys

I'm not sure the jacket would shrink a whole lot without the heat from the dryer. One thing I would watch out for, is what sort of hanger you use when you hang it to dry. If you soak it and then hang it on a hanger that doesn't fill up the shoulder area completely, it can make the jacket look funny afterwards. I think someone once used hot water on a jacket (probably a Wested) and they experienced some shrinking from that (which is what they were going for), so if you don't have a dryer, maybe try giving it a hot-water bath? (attempt at your own risk, of course) I suggest doing a quick search through the jacket section, as I know there's a thread in there somewhere about this.

Thanks GCR, I've had a good look through and found the thread. I'm gonna go for the hot water treatment and just throw it in a ball in the corner of my room to let it air dry I have 2 jackets so I'm experimenting on this one I hope it works ;D

I've just done the hot water treatment and tried the jacket on still wet, it definitely fits better now Can't wait till its dry so i can see what it looks like properly. Looks black at the mo. I'd post some pics of it dry to see what you all think, I just ain't got a clue how to do it
