Hi guys!
I finally received my first Indy jacket yesterday. It is a Wested Raiders off the rack size 44. Everything seems ok, but i`m not happy with the way the collar sits on this particular jacket. When i tried it on, one side of the collar seems to hang lower than the other and it just doesn`t look right. I have already e-mailed Gemma at Wested and asked if i could exchange it. I have to exchange some pants anyway, as they are too big for me so i thought i might as well change the jacket too. I hate being fussy but it`s my first (and probably only) Indy jacket and i just want to be 100% happy with it. The lamb is heavier than i imagined too, i`ve heard alot of members here say that it is a light jacket. The other hides must be alot heavier then, or do they make something lighter than the lamb? Anyway, i would like to know from other members if this is a common thing (the collar) with their jackets and their experiences in doing exchanges with Wested. I feel bad asking them, and i hope they are helpful.
Cheers Mikie.

Mikie, I'd say you could expect all kinds of craziness from a brand new jacket that been folded up and shipped, how about a picture of you wearing the jacket that hi-lights the problem area. Remember that it's a leather jacket and is not a delicate item or anything that is supposed to continue to look like the day you got it, personally I always scrunch mine up at the collar to loosen up the newness and get it to looking more the way I think it should, leather is pretty moldable in that regard especially when done with water. But if you show a picture we'd be better able to judge the situation, I'm having a hard time imagining what could cause a permanent problem like that. BTW, don't confuse Wested's lambskin with Todd's.. the latter is quite thinner, and for that matter don't confuse US Wings lambskin with Westeds.. the latter is quite a bit thinner.

Mikie, you should really post a picture of your collar problem here. I say this because the Wested jacket (and the original Raiders movie jacket) does have an uneven collar.
As for the hide, lambskin should not be a heavy leather, regardless of color or maker. What is your basis of comparison? What is the surface of the leather like? You might not even have a lambskin jacket in your hands!

Thanks guys!
Gemma from Wested e-mailed me and said she`d be happy to exchange the jacket. As this is the case i might exchange it for the special offer Raiders jacket, which i hear is a bit lighter and more screen accurate.
Anyway, i`ll see how i go with that!
Cheers, Mikie.

The Roltaa special is tighter with higher armholes, it also has the silver coloured zipper going right down to the bottom of the jacket. However the leather may be about the same thickness as the standard. I personally think it's quite thin enough. It's actually thinner then my 3 year old lamb and I prefer that.
I believe he now has OTR Raiders jackets in washed goat, which has a more matt surface and should be stronger than the lamb. I'd really be interested in that one!
BTW the special is slightly longer too so be aware of that.
