HAMMONDSPORT, N.Y. -- We all know the movies. Now fans of Indiana Jones can experience the magic of the series at the Glen Curtis Museum.
"We have the holster Harrison Ford actually wore and used in the Temple of Doom, for his firearm. We have the original German uniform used in Raiders of the Lost Ark. One of the mummy skulls from the well of soul scene in Raiders and even a casting of Dietrich's melting face from Raiders. Where they open of the Ark of the Covenant and everyone's face starts melting,” said Rick Leisenring, Curtis Museum Curator.
The only things at the museum that are not original are the golden skull from Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Indy's trademark hat and leather jacket. But visitors here don't seem to mind.
"It was pretty impressive; I didn't expect to see it. So it was pretty awesome,” said Joshua Pietrzykowski, Brockport resident.
Dedicated fans like Joshua gets to relive scenes they know and learn new things.
"One of the interesting things about Raiders of the Lost, They spent almost $1 million building the flying wing. It was done in Tunisia and they blow it up,” said Leisenring.
However, in the past, production companies would pick up and leave instead of taking the props, making the things you see here that much more valuable.
"We have the largest exhibit of Indiana Jones props and customs that's ever been put on,” said Leisenring.
The curator says the exhibit came from his love of the movies and was designed to draw a new audience to the museum and with so many young visitors, they feel it has done just that.
The exhibit will run until July 13th. The museum's other big exhibit will be the June Bug Celebration July 4th weekend.

Hundreds of Indiana Jones fans are heading to Hammondsport to see an exhibit on the movie series. The Glen Curtis Museum, normally a place that honors aviators, is temporarily paying tribute to the famous archaeologist and the hard work that goes into making the films.
