As I never collected any I-J toys, the books and records are what I liked collecting most back in the eighties. The novels, magazines, comic books, gum cards, soundtrack and story albums etc. The dark horse comics followed in the nineties My "vintage" book collection... pics taken in 2006There were some additions since then -More Dark Horse comics, Raiders storybook, coloring book, Raiders vinyl record albums (my brother had them back in the eithies..still does I think) I found a set on ebay and added them to my Temple of Doom and LC records. I'll have to take more pics. Here they are... Raiders books and Dark Dorse comics additions.RecordsNow I stated my new Indy IV book collection with The Ulitmate Guide and The Lost Journal. Today I received The Complete Making of and KOTCS novel. (hardcover) What I will add to the new collection are the soundtrack album, the comics adaptation (and new comics series) and the trading cards series. Brand new books...so far.Anyone else collect I-J books and stuff ?

Wow, man! That looks to be hours and hours of reading enjoyment right there! I've got some Indy books as well (not anywhere near as many as you, though! ) I've got all of the novels except for Sky Pirates and the movie novelizations of Raiders and TOD (and KOTCS, though I won't be getting that one). I've also got the Lucasfilm Archives book, the Complete Making of book and the Lost Journal (I picked up the last two yesterday). I've also got the three original soundtracks on casette tape (2 copies of Raiders) and all 4 sountracks on CD. That pretty much does it for Indy books/music in my collection, it's mainly about the gear for me. ;D

One of the things that irks me about the Marvel books is the title font. Couldn't they get the familiar curved style? My cousin had most of them and I remember reading some. I was young and didn't understand why Indy didn't look like Indy (I think he was yellow/blond in one of them).
I have three of the novels at the moment. I'm slowly collecting them as I see them come up for affordable prices. The books aren't that well written, but the stories are interesting and somewhat original.

I had a Raiders poster with a pic of Indy from SOC and the familiar logo...maybe Marvel was not allowed to use the logo back then.
BTW, I've added more pics to the first post.

I started "collecting" since last summer but i've had a couple since i was really little. The first thing i got was the Raiders soundtrack on record. that is probably one of the coolest things i got. i just picked up a couple of the new books, the lost journal, that was really cool. I also bought the IJ handbook, pretty useful, I just learned how to slide under a moving truck. ;D

Well, my collection of novels has increased over the past few days. Wal-Mart had them on sale for $4.97 so I picked up Sky Pirates, Dinosaur Eggs, Hollow Earth, Seven Veils, Philosopher's Stone, and Peril at Delphi. Add them to Secret of the Sphinx, Genises Deluge, and Dance of the Giants and I've almost got the complete set.
I still need White Witch, Unicorn Legacy, and Interior World, so I'm hoping to get them soon.

Great stuff, Stefana!!
I was looking through the Ultimate Guide my brother got for his birthday. It's really cool. We have a lot of the DK books, mainly Star Wars.
But I read something that kind of upset me. It said that Indy's favorite fedora was WOOL felt. Can that be right? I know a couple of the fedoras in Raiders were wool, but the main ones were fur, right?
Other than that, I found the book to be really informative and a fun read.

I have a tiny amount of old comics myself, and a couple of incomplete fate of atlantis ( parts 3 and 4 ) and part 1 of the golden fleece, part 1 of the spear of destiny I'm always keeping my eyes open at conventions for additional chapters but is becoming harder and harder

Here is the pic... These additions kinda filled-up my Indy bookshelf...and I had to store the comics and magazines elsewhere in boxes ! ... DAMN !! Forgot to put newly aquired gum cards series in the pic ( Temple of Doom, Crystal Skull and Heritage series) TOD and CS are visible in the bookshelf pic though.

i will have to take a closer look at all the comic issues to find out which ones are which i got lots of "part 1's..." so stories are incomplete and your photos will help me find the right chapters
I also have the collectors magazines for raiders and ToD in the bottom row of the first photo
plus do you have the collectors magazines that open out into giant posters?
what about the star wars archives? that also includes Indy!

Well, it only looks like it. It's actually a carved salt-stone lamp, they come in various sizes and shapes. I picked this particular one because the size and shape resemble the sankara stone's. Thanks a loooooooooooot !!
