My brother showed me this earlier today. It seems that the Noble Collection, which makes great Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter replicas, is making some Indiana Jones replicas. So far they have a bullwhip (that looks awful) and a Thuggee machete. The machete looks pretty cool, though. Here's the link: www.noblecollection.com/catalog/catalog.cfm?catid=69-Josh

Hmmm....!
I just checked that out! Yeah, the machete looks good. I suppose the whip isn`t too bad, for the price anyway. I`m looking for a bullwhip to add to my collection but don`t want to spend up to $400. Can you recommend any other brands that aren`t too expensive and look more authentic than the Noble one? If so can you please let me know as i want to get one soon.
Thanks, mikiejedi

This guy makes a nice Raiders style whip: www.purewhips.com/whips.htm I have the 8ft 8 plait Indy whip. The handle is slightly too short and it is a bit thin, but overall it's pretty nice. I know Todd makes some really nice bullwhips. His are more for show since they have a rubber core instead of a leather core. But they are also really nice at a good price. And when Adam Winrich returns to making whips, he has a really nice 4 plait Indy whip. -Josh

Cool.....thanks for that!
I checked them out and they look pretty good, and reasonably priced too. I only really want it to display anyway! So you don`t recommend the Noble one?

So you don`t recommend the Noble one? mikiejedi Mikiejedi, if your just gonna hang on a wall for display, you may be ok. Noble collection products aren't exactly the sturdiest items out there..in my experience with them. They look pretty, but I've found them to be "look, but don't touch" items...and they are pricey!

i second that motion ;D ;D ;D
but ya if you r looking for a display peace this is a good place to get it. its pricey tho and you don't want to handle their stuff because it is not meant for that. if you want a "working" whip, go with a gus whip or a IOAB. they are the cheapest you will fined and are said to be really good. believe me, i have lots of experience with Noble, only get things that will be for display!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't trying to rain on your parade or anything. I...much like Alex..have had a long history with Noble (about 15 years). They do make some very pretty stuff. I have 3 Highlander Sword Replicas from them. Very attractive pieces...and yes, I did give into temptation and try to simulate chopping a person's head off (using a watermelon). A poor field test, as human bone, sinew and muscle tissue are much denser than a Melon. Like Fusion said earlier, They make some beautiful Harry Potter and LOTR stuff too. They just aren't designed to be handled much. The machete looks very nice(and probably is), but a couple of actual cracks of that whip will probably not end well. I'd try a Gus for a bout the same price. Alex3000 can probably tell you how to go about that. Good luck!

No prob`s!!
I`ll probably get the Gus, a couple of people here have mentioned his, and from the website they look pretty Indy to me! And for a lot less! Would love the original (David Morgan) but they are just too expensive, i don`t want to kill my credit card....lol, and it`s mainly going to be for display anyway, so i`d be silly to spend that much! My girlfriend will have a heart attack...she`s already getting annoyed with me buying all this Indy stuff....lol! What i want to do is get an old style hat and coat stand so i can put it in the corner of the lounge room and display my jacket, hat and whip when i eventually get them all. Sort of a little shrine to my love of Indy! I`m going to go for a Wested Raiders, and an Adventurebuilt hat when i have the spare money. Then i want to get a glass display cabinet and start putting some Indy props in it. I have an Acme Artifacts Staff Of Ra headpiece on the way, already have a Golden Idol (Painted Resin one that i stumbled across in a model shop some years ago by chance) and then want to look for a Grail and Grail Diary, and maybe some other stuff.
Sound ok...? Any ideas would be great, as to what i want to do!
I`ve seen some of the members rooms and how they have decked them out and i thought it would be cool to do! I might get the four movie posters that i have framed and get them on the wall too! If the girlfriend allows....lol! I`ve also ordered some of the new statues at Indianajonesshop.com, so need to find a place for them too.
See ya guys, Mikie.

I have seen this Noble website before, it looks like the kind of whip that's only useful for hanging on a wall rather than actually cracking and performance. I got duped by the Fort Apache "bullwhip" ahem www.fort-apache.com/bullwhips.htmloking at the price i thought "woohoo" but don't be fooled they do not have falls, they are constructed completely wrong and fall to bits after about 30 minutes of practising. This is the same whip that i took apart and found a length of rope wrapped in plastic tubing and chains...
