Well, I got tired of my nice headpiece replica laying flat on my desktop, and I thought I'd see if I could figure out a way to get it to stand upright so it would be better displayed. I thought about making something out of wood, but then, as I was rummaging through my desk, I found an item that solved everything...a paperclip! ;D I just grabbed a pair of needle-nose pliers and shaped the clip into a stand. Took about 20-30 seconds and cost me nuthin'. ;D And hey, it actually works! Headpiece displayed on the desktop: Anyways, a bit of a random and pointless thread, I know...but I thought maybe someone else might get some amusement of this absurdity. ;D -GCR

;D ;D ;D That's brilliant! I was sitting there the other day wishing I had some way of displaying my headpiece without keeping it in the box. Now I do! Gah, now I need to find a paper clip! ;D

I think that's a great idea as well! You should make tons of these and sell them at inflated prices, of course. You could offer them in the " Classic Silver" finish used above, but also in " Bronze Age", and " Tanis Gold" finishes.... for slightly higher prices of course. Now all you need is a name and you're on your way to fortune and glory in the forgotten field of metalurgic clip arts. ;D Great work! Ken

That does it... paperclips have now taken the 1st place spot in my list of "most useful office supply items". The stapler must be very upset. Good stuff Griff. I love to see home made stuff, however cheap and easy to make it is.

Customer complaint: Mine arrived bent. What do I do now? I need this thing for a party I'm throwing, and now I have nothing to display my headpiece on! Just giving you an idea of what you might hear if you actually tried to make these for money. Ken

Griff, here's a bit of advice. If you sell your classic silver stand on ebay, be sure to start it at $0.99 with no reserve. You're bound to get at least 100 bucks for it.

Very inventive thinking on your part, GCR! I love the way you "MacGyvered" your headpiece stand. Now what can ya do with 2 aspirin, a 5 gallon bucket of mayonaise and a blowtorch?? Clocks ticking! Tic-toc-tic-toc..
