I found this while browsing Ebay tonight.... cgi.ebay.com/INDIANA-JONES-CRYSTAL-SKULL-not-star-wars-PROP_W0QQitemZ130211022501QQihZ003QQcategoryZ790QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemNow I think the guy did a d*mn good job of replicating what we've seen so far of the new movie prop. Considering what he used to make it very well may be worth what he's asking for. My problem with this doesn't have anything to do with the seller or the price. I'm just a little disappointed at how "cheesy" the skull looks. I was hoping seeing a clear resin version of this prop would really look cool.....especially lit up. Instead I look at this and see something that you might find for sale during Halloween. It just looks like one of those over-exaggerated skulls you can buy for $12.....It's more comical looking than creepy. Now I'm sure the actual movie prop will look better than this, but......this is most likely what were going to be looking at in terms of props fans can collect. In which case I'm a little disappointed. I'd rather stick with my human skull.

Looks like a recast of this one made by a member of the lounge? besides 8 months ago we didnt even have any source material of this movie. So it really looks like he copied the other skull........ EDITThis is a recast of the skull above, someone bought it and recasted it in clear resin, the bogus story under it is enough proof. The original maker is contacting eBay about it.

I happen to think the painted version there looks a little better than the clear resin copy. Which stinks for me because I thought the clear resin version would be a lot cooler looking. Instead it looks like a cheap ice sculpture. It wouldn't surprise me someone bought the other prop and copied it. Ebay is full of that stuff.

Yeah, the clear resin version is the first sculpt he made, he sold that one painted in a bone colour to Canada, after that he revised his sculpt and that is the version you see a picture of in my post. I think the clear resin the ebay seller used is of such a low grade that it looks cheap. The skull I have from that site that was posted here a long time ago is much clearer and I have no doubt the clear version skull will look more like that if not better.

I think the biggest problem I'm having with the prop in general is the eyes. That goes for the movie version as well. They almost seem to big. I think they could have toned down the eye sockets some and still could have retained the "alien look" they were going for.
There just doesn't seem to be a sense of depth to them. I think it would look creepier if the eye sockets were darker....

Well, yeah.....I understand that. One of the things that's "creepy" about them is the fact that the have big black eyes....From what witnesses claim.
That's the problem with the skull prop. The deeper part of the eye sockets should be darker or something.
I dunno....it's kinda hard to explain.
I don't particularly care for the prop so far but I don't hate it either. Out of all the relics Indy's gone after this one to me is the less realistic of the bunch.....At least in the way it's been designed.
Who knows what the thing will do in the film. It might end up turning out to be really creepy.

Hey Guys, I always thought aliens should be somewhat more practical, as far as large eyes go anyway. I drew these aliens back in 1995 and painted them in 2001. As you can see my alien has large eyes but still very well proportioned. I think people who give supposed eyewitness accounts probably stretch the truth a little due to fear. Sometimes fear can get the best of someones imagination. Sincerely, Prof.Wex

Hello guys, thought I'd weigh in here, I acquired that skull you posted Harry, and I am fairly sure it isn't an exact copy. The skull I recieved is the same one pictured, tho unfortuantely mine arrived broken. To my knowledge only one other of these were sold to Kclasse, another member here, tho his is painted differantly and he lives in another country altogeather. The seller of the $2500 skull in question is in Canada, and the one thing I notice, is the cheek bones on my skull look just slightly differant then that clear one. Still its priced way too high and it does look very similar, Ill be interested to see what happens.

Yes that is true but that was the very first Sculpt he made. After that one he revised it into the one you bought. The first one was sold to Canada.
