Awesome, can't wait to see if they have Stormshadow. Snake-eyes was one of my favorites also along with Stormshadow. Hopefully they do a Sideshow figure of this.

From what I've heard Cobra is in it only it shows how everything starts out. More or less it's Cobra's origin story. Destro has a big hand in helping the terrorist group get started. I was a little worried at first about this project but after seeing these images I think they're definitely heading in the right direction.

I really like the cast so far (I mean: Rachel Nichols as Scarlett!!! ) And the production design rocks! Just look at SnakeEyes! But I still think the movie will be a total CRAP storywise...

Well, right now I'm kinda in the middle.....This either could be a cool movie or a total disaster......
It looks like Larry Hama is involved with the production on some level.....not sure if it's the plot or not. He was the one that created the characters and helped launch the GI JOE line and comic books I grew up with. So I'm taking that as a good sign and I'm trying to stay optimistic about it.
I thought Transformers would blow but it turned out being a pretty darn good flick and one of the reasons I'm not to worried about Shia playing Indy's kid.

Ray Park = very good. Larry Hama = very good. Stephen Sommers = very scary.

I'm hoping someone is there to help reign Sommers in. I think he did a good job with the first Mummy pic. I think the problem with the second Mummy movie and Van Helsing is that he went overboard with everything. He's a good director. I think he just needs to learn to have more self control. He's like a hyper kid let loose in a toy store.

ahhhh thats very reassuring then pitfall, that makes alot of sense to do an origin film. Im guessing they hope to do more. I really hope it does well, partly for Ray parks sake. Hes always such a great dude at conventions, and did a great job as maul and todd and his other roles. Hes always there for the fans so id hope it pays off for him and he can get more recognition and work.

Ray is one of the things that really saved Phantom Menace for me and I think he deserves more credit than he's been given. I'm VERY happy that they picked him to play Snake-Eyes. I'm just wondering what origin their using for the character though. In the original storyline Snake-Eyes was a soldier in the Vietnam war that was badly disfigured during a fight. His vocal cords were damaged as well. So that's one of the reasons he never spoke and always wore that mask. IF they use that origin then I doubt we will see Snake without his mask. The character kinda helped make comic book history when Marvel released that one issue of GI JOE featuring Snake-Eyes and the entire comic book had no word balloons.

yea when i ehard they would ahve him talk maybe i though " good for ray because hes been wanting to actually do more acting and not jsut being the darth maul type who fights and grins. I hope they show his face maybe at some point, or let him get some credit he hopes for. But not everyone gets to be what they want with their roles. Hes know for his action skills, he will never be able to completely break from that.

I'm still on the fence about this film. I was a huge fan of GI JOE growing up in the 80's. I had all the comics and I'm quite relieved that Larry Hama is involved with the movie. My favorite versiom of Snake Eyes was version 2 (ninja with wolf). I do feel that everything got too ninja-crazy and that it ultimately helped kill the title. As an adult, I like the prospect of Snake Eyes with a ninja background, but dressed in his commando incarnation and using mostly conventional weapons. The original cartoon Snake Eyes or early comic book version.

This movie is getting scarier by the minute. Brendan Frasier cast as Gung Ho?! The Rock cast as Shipwreck?! What the #*!? Is going on with this thing? Has anyone seen the full body shot of Snake Eyes yet? He's sportin BDU pants so he's Ninja from the waist up and Commando from the waist down?! Storm Shadow looks like some kind of cheap Mighty Morphin Power Ranger villian. This project is rapidly turning into GIJOE: Sigma Six. Chris Eccleston looks good as Destro and hopefully Zartan will look ok too. I just cannot believe that Larry Hama is consulting or advising on this flick and these casting and wardrobe decisions are still happening. GIJOE: the sequel to "Street Fighter starring Jean Claude Van Damme". Yeah....good times!!
