As some of you know, aside from the ever-popular "Raiders" look, I also have a soft-spot for the style of gear Indy sported in "Last Crusade". That being the case, I've been looking for a decent Webley style holster to compliment my LC gear for quite some time, and once I saw Todd's incredible bargain for the "standard" Webley holster, I knew I had to check it out. After getting a little extra green back from Uncle Sam, I decided to go for it. Well, the holster arrived yesterday and I could not be happier! It really is a great bargain for the price. I have no idea how sturdy it would be if someone decided to use it as a real holster (and I have no intention of doing that, as I don't plan on buying a Webley...ever. I sort of have this rule about only buying guns I might actually use. ;D ) but this is definitely well above a mere costume piece. Here it is, still in new condition: And after a little distressing: Anyways, a great holster for a price that can't be beat! Thanks Todd! -GCR

Man, Griff, that's a good looking holster! I like the distressing you've done to it. Sand paper? I'd like to do that to mine, but I haven't found the heart, yet. Congrats! -Josh

The distressing is a fine cocktail of sandpaper, cement floor, bricks, pocket knife, leather conditioner and hot water, plus I did a lot of bending and flexing the leather to loosen it up and get some nice wrinkles worked into it. -GCR

great holster Griff! I was waiting for someone to put up some pics of Todd's webley.
I must say, that first pic with the holster looking almost black had a very TOD vibe going on. It seems to have been the lighting though. Congrats on your new purchase.

Bluejay, Pitfall and Kap, thanks guys! And Kap, the holster appears very dark in that first shot, mostly due to the shine and the way it reflects the flash, similar to the way a brand-new G&B can appear darker than it really is when you take flash-pictures of it. The strange thing is, when I distressed it, many of the distressed areas became darker than the surrounding leather, rather than lighter, which is a first for me (and I've distressed my fair share of leather holsters and jackets over the years). -GCR

Thanks Indianalex! You might be lucky enough to find an original Webley holster in a military surplus store somewhere in Europe if not in Italy itself. Otherwise the reproductions from Todd's are quite cheap even with the international shipping...especially when you consider the favorable exchange rate for European customers. -GCR

Todd, yes i know... i'm waiting to buy jacket from him... This picture is dedicated to you. I LOVE that statue!! I know that Todd's stuff is mostly for show and "costume"(I hate using that word when referring to Indy gear!), but how is the durability of the gear. I understand that its not made for real world applications but how would that holster hold up compared to its "real world" variation? Could ya trek through the Amazon, the Yucitan or desert with it? The gear I buy, I want to actually use. Granted, in the 21st century, walking around certain parts with a exposed holster would draw the wrong kind of attention (i.e. Central America). I'm gonna use my aldens and my MKVII bag for travelling and trekking (maybe even a fedora to keep the sun off my head). Oops sorry about the babble. My question is: What do different people have to say about there gear and its durability??

Desertdweller, that's an excellent question! I think that one deserves its own thread, so if you don't mind, I'll start one up in general chat (I have a feeling it might get lost in here, and I'm curious to see what everyone has to say) I'll post your questions and my response in the new thread -GCR

I got my holster through a company called IMA or International Military Antiques it is a authentic Webley holster I paid around 30 dollars for it but hey I had to have one I own a real shootable .455 Webley mark VI 1918 patent and i will say this this lady has seen some action bore is cherry though i think the barrel was replaced since the original serial number is scratched our and the frame number is inscribed on it well I hope to get some feed back.
