Hello, everyone. I'm not sure if many of you have heard of this game yet. It's basically brand new and won't be released until this fall for the PS3. It's an action adventure game and the storyline is in the same spirit as Indiana Jones, Lara Croft and Pitfall. The main character's name is Nathan Drake. He is a decendant of Sir Francis Drake.... Well, here's the link to the site and the plot synopsis for the game. www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Games/Uncharted_Drake_s_FortuneA 400-year-old clue in the coffin of Sir Francis Drake sets a modern-day fortune hunter on a exploration for the fabled treasure of El Dorado, leading to the discovery of a forgotten island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
The search turns deadly when Nathan Drake becomes stranded on the island and hunted by mercenaries. Outnumbered and outgunned, Drake and his companions must fight to survive as they begin to unravel the terrible secrets hidden on the Island.Corellia over at RaiderQuest started a thread asking if any of us guys would be interested in putting an outfit for this character together. I thought the outfit looked cool so I decided to take a small break from collecting Indy gear to put this together. I'm still missing the leather shoulder holster, a close-enough gun , a new belt with the skull and swords emblem on it. Other then that I think I've got everything else......Well, I need to add dirt! ;D These are just test shots and I'm also including still shots from the game so you guys can see his outfit as well.

That sounds like an interesting game. The look has some potential. But, crap, it means I have to work out more! I really like the shoulder holster and the belt.
PH, you're off to a good start with the outfit, but like you said, you gotta roll around in some dirt or something my friend! I'm anxious to see what you come up with for the belt and holster.

Well, the bad thing is you've got to buy a PS3 to play it because so far that's the only system it's been announced for. Yeah, once I get everything together I'll either add some PS dirt to my "final" pics or I'll roll around in the dirt or something. ;D I've found the belt buckle online. The shoulder holster I'm still kind of looking for. I found one for $65. I'm hoping to get one cheaper than that since I won't get much use out of it. I'm watching Ebay at the moment. The black belt to put the buckle I can get here in town. I've spotted a few airsoft guns that are pretty cheap and would fit the bill.

VERY nice startoff! you have a close resemblance to the character, you know! But, like you already said, the outfit will need a lot of dirtying up. you need to make it look well worn and stain it quite a bit. I've found the belt buckle online. Holy $#it, Pitfall!!!
So, this is what you look like in normal clothes. I don't think I've ever seen you outside of your gear. It was like it was part of your being.
Looks good so far. You know, you can get that shoulder holster somewhere and I'm pretty sure for relatively cheap. Then you also have to grow and style your hair like Tom Cruise in "The Color of Money" and you're good to go.

Well, the jeans I'm wearing are actually my good ones. ;D I'll have to either buy another pair or maybe use PS to "dirty" everything up once I get everything and go to shoot some "action pics". It's hard to say. I really like the look so maybe just have an extra set to mess up. Any tips on how to go about "distressing" the outfit? In some shots his shirt is so dirty that it almost looks gray. Holy $#it, Pitfall!!! So, this is what you look like in normal clothes. I don't think I've ever seen you outside of your gear. I just love wearing my Indy gear all the time. ;D ;D Ya know I was trying to figure out who's hairstyle Nathan's reminded me of and I think you nailed it. It does remind me of Tom Cruise's from "The Color of Money" and maybe even a little like the way he had it in "Top Gun". To be honest I usually wear my hair short because it's easier to handle. When I let it grow out some it tends to look more like Harrison's hair. My hair is also a little lighter brown without all that hair gel in to. ;D

I hear you. My hair is not Indy at all as some may suspect of me, but instead it's just like Brad Pitt's in the Ocean's films. Short all the way around. Don't have to add anything or do anything to it at all. Just roll out of bed and go. Only problem is that I'm now starting to grey out a bit. I guess that's what incredible amounts of stress do to you.
As far as your jeans go, just go to a thrift shop and you should be able to find a nice, very cheap pair to dirty up.

I'm now even noticing it in my stubble! And yes, stress can cause a lot of this. I've got an older pair of jeans that are a little bit more worn out than the ones I'm wearing in the photos. I'll probably just use those. I may just have to buy a second shirt to mess up.

tiz weird seeing you not in Indy gear
that holster looks like a Die Hard type, I made one just like it many years ago only in shiny black, for £25
if you wear that costume for a long period of time you will get withdrawel symptoms and run back home to put on the old Jones' Kit once again

;D Yeah, I'm sure it is quite a shock to some people who've only seen me in my Indy Gear. Oh, and don't worry.....I'm not abandoning the good Dr. Jones gear anytime soon. In fact I want to get an ABD and a AB Indy shirt. If I can scrape up the cash I want to get in on the shirt deal unless it's already to late. I saw Die Hard 4 this weekend and I was thinking the same thing Jerrico.

That game looks very cool. Nice airplane - exactly the same as Tales of the Gold Monkey. The graphics on these games are really amazing. In just a few years, they could be totally photo realistic. Sadly, there's no PS3 in my future, unless they cut the price in half - twice.

Ok...first off, Harry...I'd say you've got a great start on the gear for this character (that seems like a pretty cool game, by the way ). I'm trying to get a positive ID on the weapon, it's tough to tell from the pics exactly what type of handgun the Drake character carries. I'd throw a wild guess and say it could be something in the 1911-esque family, or possibly a Browning (we all know by now how those two can look similar, right?), although from the pic that shows the base of the grip and the bottom of the magazine I'd say it looks slim, more like a 1911 derivative than a Browning Hi-Power. Anyways, gun-blabbering aside, I'd say you've got a hell of a start. OK, now...secondly, I have to say that this: ...had me laughing out loud. ;D I can only imagine what someone would think if they saw these pics and didn't know you were trying to copy the costume from a character in a video game. They'd probably think you were one bad dude, PH!!! ;D Hell...I wonder what your neighbors thought! Seriously though, if you find yourself a good shoulder rig with a double mag pouch and a more realistic gun to put in it, I'd say you've got this look nailed! Now just go easy on poor Apu... ;D -GCR

Thanks, GCR Yeah, I was trying to figure out what type of gun he was carrying too. It's hard to tell even when you watch the trailer for the game. The game does look like a blast but I don't care how low they cut the price on the PS3 I'm not getting one just for this game. I can't imagine it won't pop up on the 360 eventually.... Anway.....as far as the gun goes I'll probably find a good cheap airsoft automatic. That cheapy little $2 gun isn't going to cut it. ;D I just used it for these shots because they were only tests. The cheapest gun rig I've found like his is about $65 dollars! I sware it doesn't matter who your dressing up as it's still expensive! ;D I found a buckle online that's close to the one he's wearing. Now all I have to do is buy it. I also need to get myself dirty......Ha, I bet the neighbors will really think I've lost it when they see me rolling around in the dirt. ;D I could also do variations on the outfit.....maybe Snake from The Simpsons.....or John McClane from Die Hard......LOL Of course if I do Die Hard 4 I'll have to shave my head!

This had me laughing pretty hard as well. Thanks guys! Glad to put a smile on your face, Steve. I really need to find a more private location to shoot these pics because I'm sure the guy next door does wonder what the Hell is going on over at my house. Oddly, I'm more willing to mess this outfit up than I am my Indy gear. The closest I came to really getting it dirty was when I used the Fuller's Earth on my Akubra and my Wested that John gave me. Maybe it's because I know I can go out and replace this stuff easier than I can my Indy gear and it's less expensive. I can't even get that F21 shirt anymore....*sigh* That's one of the reasons I'm on the fence about buying an ABD Indy shirt. I want one but I don't want to mess up a shirt that I have to special order. So far the seeds I've planted for that my tree have not sprouted yet. ;D

www.gamespot.com/video/932984/6149584/untitled-naughty-dog-game-working-title-official-trailer-1Here's a link to another trailer for the game. It's really impressive. The action and environments are incredible - very movie like. I think this trailer is older than the one Pitfall originally posted. The main character's outfit is a bit different - red sleeves. He also looks to be wearing classic Converse sneakers. He's clearly holding a Makarov type pistol in the beginning but later a revolver and other guns. The gun in his shoulder holster looks like a classic 45 automatic. Cool stuff.

Yeah, that's the original teaser that they showed at last years E3 during the PS3 press conference. I like the red shirt and I'm still looking to find something like that but overall I like the changes the made to his outfit in the lastest build of the game. I think this early version kind of makes the character look younger than maybe they wanted. I am dying to play this game. It does look like a lot of fun and like you Havana I love the plane they're using in the game.....mainly because it's just like the on from "Tails of the Gold Monkey". If the game is a big enough hit I think it would be foolish for them not to port it to other systems. Although, they might of had to sign something with Sony that gives Sony "X" number of years to have it as an exclusive before it can make the move to other systems over even the PC for that matter.

I was just wondering... any news on this? haven't heard about it ever since you posted those first test pics... I still think that's a very interesting character to cosplay.
