That really sucks. He was going to skyrocket to fame with his portrayel of The Joker, in the up-coming Batman film. Just say NO to drugs, kids. 'Blues

This is from IMDB:
Actor Heath Ledger was found dead at a Manhattan apartment Tuesday afternoon in what appeared to be a possible drug-related death; he was 28. The actor was discovered in one of the SoHo apartment's bedrooms at 3:31 p.m., when a masseuse arrived for a scheduled appointment and the residence's housekeeper went to inform the actor of the masseuse's arrival. He was found unconscious and unresponsive; the New York Times stated that the apartment in question belonged to actress Mary-Kate Olsen, who was not present and was believed to be out of state. An initial police report also cited by the New York Times said that foul play was not suspected and that pills had been found near Ledger's body. A native of Australia, Ledger shot to fame as a teen heartthrob in 10 Things I Hate About You before graduating to more adult roles, most notably his Oscar-nominated turn in Brokeback Mountain. Engaged at one time to Brokeback co-star Michelle Williams, the two had a daughter but had split in recent months. Earlier this year, Ledger wrapped filming on the Batman film The Dark Knight, in which he played The Joker; the film is currently set for release this summer. Further details of the actor's death were not available at press time. --IMDb staff
Doesn't sound like suicide. Senseless and disappointing. He was one of the good ones.

I just saw the latest on this and right now they are NOT saying anything about the cause of death because they don't know.....They're waiting on the coroner's report.....
What they have said is that there weren't drugs scattered around the room....Just two bottles of sleeping pills....One over the counter and one prescribed......
The apartment Ledger was staying at was not owned by either of the Olsen Twins....
Ledger also just arrived from filming in London and some friends stated that he had recently been ill.......or had symptoms similar to Pneumonia.

Rumour , untruths always abound when not needed...
The BEST thing to do is wait and see what transpires... eventually the "truth" will surface and we will know, once and for all, what really happened.
It is a shame... he was taken too soon...
Thanks for the update Harry...

One over the counter and one prescibed. I've seen this before. people taking meds that are not thier own, self prescribing or mixing with checking with thier docors .he could have easly had his prescribed meds that he added with the over the counter. Not the smartest thing to do. I'll bet it was a accident.

I know he might have been having some problems in his life but I don't *think* he was suicidal at all........I've got a feeling this was all some tragic accident..... It's a real shame too.......With all these new Batman ads and posters popping up with the Joker it just makes me kinda sad.....especially knowing he left a little 2 yr old daughter behind.

This is a tragedy. I didn't always agree with some of the things he said or some of the roles he chose but he was a human being and a fiercely talented actor. The fact that it could be accidental just compounds the tragedy.
