Movie Patrons Can Rat Out Rude Behavior GRS Allows Anonymous Paging Of Managerwww.local6.com/spotlight/13410250/detail.htmlKNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Are you fed up with rude movie patrons? A major theater group is offering a way to tattle on them.
The Regal Entertainment Group has been testing small hand-held devices called "Guest Response Systems." Selected patrons can use them anonymously to page management when there's a specific problem. The GRS's are wireless and have four buttons marked "picture," "sound," "piracy" and "other disturbance." Company spokesman Dick Westerling said they have been used to report audio or video problems or to tell on someone who is illegally taping the movie. But he said most complaints have to do with loud talking and cell phone use. Westerling said the Guest Response System seems to be improving "customer etiquette" in the 13 theaters where they've been since last summer. Now, he said, the company is adding them in 101 more locations. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally we will have a way to report the talkers, seat kickers, and other generally annoying people that I usually run into at the theater. The only problem will be having enough strong arms available to the management, to help remove all the people now being reported! ;D These should be in every theater, attached to every seat. Ken

This has got to be the best idea I've heard in ages and it's such a simple idea that it should have been thought of a long time ago. As of recently the only real problem I've encountered in the theater I went to is the people bringing tiny babies to the films. I'm talking 6 months old. I understand wanting to see a film but find a babysitter and if you can't don't go. That's comes with being a parent. Or at the very least get up and take the kid out of the theater. How hard is that? We took my youngest to see CARS when it came out and he'd just turned two and it was his first film. He sat through the previews and that was it. I ended up staying with my oldest while my wife took him out in the lobby and missed the entire film. I can see taking little kids to see Shrek but not babies. They don't have a clue. All they hear is the loud noises. That by the way is not the film I had the problem with. Someone brought their baby to Spider-Man 3 and let the baby just cry and annoy the crap out of everyone around them. I was about to stand up and shout to the person to take the kid outside but it stopped by then...... Anyway, I hope this idea catches on and is released nation wide. I think it's great.

Phew, I'm glad this came out. I've been banned from every theater in town for shoving miscellaneous boors' heads through the screen.

I think it's a good idea because you simply can't count on people to have common courtesy anymore. I was in a theater once where the whole audience applauded when the management escorted one guy out who kept getting phone calls, talking, and leaving his phone on.

One person brught their 6 month old and another, a 8 (or so) year old to Grindhouse. Talk about no sense of morals. Honestly, this is an OUTSTANDING idea. I always thought it rude to begin with that I pay to see a movie and that I have to be the one to get up and miss part of the movie just to tell management I have a problem with someone in there. On top of it, they say that as long as they are with an adult, any child of ANY age is allowed in under their rules.

I hate annoying movie goers as well. I can't stand to pay $50-$60 dollars for me and my family to go see a film, with the overpriced snacks,....and some idiot is talking RIGHT behind me. OR the back of the chair bump, every 30 seconds. That's when I lose it, I usually just stand up and tell them to either stop it, or move to another seat. Never had a problem after saying something, but I'm sure one of these days it will end up in a brawl. 'Blues

I haven't seen the film yet but you can tell from the trailers that this aint no Disney film! For pete sake Rose Mcgowan's walking around half naked and she's got a machine gun for a leg! Yeah, let's take the kids to see that. Let's make it a triple feature and take them over to see 300 next! It's going to come to a point where your going to have to get a license to become a parent because of like this. I hate annoying movie goers as well. Someone is always bumping or kicking the back of her seat. I wonder if there's going to be a button on that remote that you can push to cause the seat of the person who's doing that to shoot them right threw the roof of the theater. Kind of like James Bond's Aston Martin. ;D

I have to share with you guys and dolls. I went to see a Bond flick (Die Another day). Some women took her 2 kids ( I would say around 9 and 11). the where very good but i couldn't but think they were a little young for this movie. The mother was ok with violence but when the to was some what naket she had a hissy fit about it. I don't get this way of thinking at all.
I agree with how rude people are at the movies. the first thing I do when I walk in ( is head to the junk food ). While waiting in line I turn off my cell phone and silent my pager. I don't understand why people just can't do the same and I get mad when they don't.
Ejection seat would be great but I would wan't the one with the finger on the button.
