We used a free movie pass yesterday we had earned from prior visits, and saw "Bridge To Terabithia".

I had no clue what the story was about, but had seen a couple of commercial trailers for it on television. It looked like a fun fantasy type story, which was good enough for me. The story is aimed for a younger audience, but not silly or slapped together because of it. I had imagined this being a Narnia/Harry Potter type film that would spend much of it's time in the fantasy world.
It turns out that while Terabithia was an imaginary place created by two young kids in need of an escape from the issues in their lives.... only bits and pieces of it were seen by the audience. Instead of watching them play out adventures in this new world, we saw glimpses of what they were imagining as they explored the wooded areas or even during school.
The movie was entertaining and had a few twists in it that were unexpected, based on the market it is aimed at. I didn't care for one of those plot turns personally, as I thought it could have written just as effectively another way. I do think people and their kids will enjoy this movie, as it is well done in almost all respects. Looking back, I would have rented it... but, that's simply because we don't get to the theaters much these days, and like to see big blockbuster style productions or stunning visual treats when we do. This one was more of a character development story than fantasy based film, which is great in a different way.
