This just came out on DVD right before Spidey 3 opened. From what I'm reading the added FX and deleted scenes are better than the theatrical release. Now I'm hearing about 20 minutes were cut from Spidey 3 and the fans want Sony to release a Spidey 3.1 DVD. The way I understand it they made Raimi cut the films running time down and there are some crucial scenes that would have expanded some of the subplots that people are complaining were underdeveloped to begin with. This just drives me nuts. If it's important to the films plot don't cut it out just to get the running time down so you can have more viewings in one day. IF the story is entertaining I will sit through a 3 hour movie. Titanic felt like 9 hours and I sat through that twice. That was because of my wife though. Anyway, the point is that movie was loooong and it still is the number one movie of all time! Some of the deleted shots are up over at the Spidey websites and I just hope they put all of this stuff back in. I think I'm going to take my oldest and my wife to see it here pretty soon. I want to see it again.

I was going to pick the Spider-man 2.1 DVD up the other day. Circuit City had it for $9.99, I believe. If it has 20 minutes of extra footage, I'm buying it. Mike

I've read and heard that the 2.1 DVD really improves the action, especially during the elevated train sequence. I ought to pick it up, now that I've seen SM 3.

Mike Well, I'm not sure how much Spidey 2 had taken out of it. It was Spidey 3 that I just heard had like 20 minutes or so missing from the final theatrical cut.
