Hello Girls and Boys, I would like to announce the arrival of the World's Only AB DELUXE in Gray. Made by a Dear Friend of mine as a gift. Before you ask or contact Marc, there are no more of these to be had. Marc made this for me from a prototype raw body. It is soft as can be and had the usual AB Deluxe trademark of Excellence in craftsmanship. Heres to you my Friend with Many, Many Thanks Cheers, G-MANN

THAT COLOR IS SPOT ON! And yes, I see a shade of GRAY, not brown there. That fedora is beautiful! Are these going into production ever or are you just extremely lucky?! Magnificent fedora. Marc, did you pick out that shade? I think you HIT IT big time!

My-T-Fine looking indeed! Marc is a heck of a nice fella, and sure does a great job on those hats! I agree, the color looks wonderful.... very steel grey!! The real question we all want to know now is.... just how many fedoras do you own? Fantastic gift from an equally fantastic guy! Ken

Well, whether that is gray or brown, it is a very close (exact match?) to the film's plane and steps fedora. It is definitely not the Indy brown standard adventure fedora shade. Indy was clearly wearing a specific hat for the dressier occassions.
This fedora still looks magnificent!

Tone, I agree completely. No matter what, the hat worn in the sea plane and on the government building steps is obviously different than the rest. It's not well worn, broken in, beaten up, or sweat stained, has not been turned, and has a very different bash to it. This was obviously different than his adventure hat for a very good reason.... he was wearing it with a suit! So, if one is to agree that this is not supposed to be the same adventure fedora he wears with that gear, and the only two times it appears in the movie it shows up "completely" different color-wise, both indoors and out.... one could possibly conclude that is might be a different color hat as well. Ken Oh yeah, I looked up "different" in the dictionary, and it also means grey. ;D

Prezactly my thoughts, RB! Whatever color that is, Marc should put these into production ASAP! And I mean right after we receive our free gray AB Deluxes! Marc? Can I sell these for you? They look that good!

I got the rawbody this hat was made from from a fellow hatter long time ago to "play" with. It's a nice pure beaver felt, but it cannot compare to the felt I get custom made in Portugal quality wise.
To me - personally - the color does not meet my picky criteria to be 100% screen accurate and going from the color chart of my felter, I can get a greyish brown / brownish grey that is much closer to what we see on screen. But before I go ahead and spend another couple thousand buck on grey rawbodies, I need to minimize the losses on my brown hat line a bit yet. I'm not saying that I won't make the grey Raiders Fedoras as well one day, but it migh take a while to get there yet.
Regards,
Marc
