I'm still in shock that Bale is officially aboard this project and not just this one but it's two sequels. I can't see someone like Bale (at this point in his career) agreeing to be in a film with a bad script. So there must be something he saw in the script that convinced him this was a good idea. I like the new series and I'm very interested in seeing where they take these new films. Here's a plot synopsis for the first new film. In the highly anticipated new installment of The Terminator film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

Terminator's T-800 to be Played by... www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=46951Pic link: comingsoon.net/nextraimages/t800role2.jpgThe Clinton News-Record has revealed that former bodybuilder Roland Kickinger will play the T-800 in Warner Bros. Pictures' Terminator Salvation, coming to theaters on May 22, 2009. Kickinger talked about his role in the film, quotes that should be considered spoilers:
This month, however, Kickinger begins filming what is likely the role of his life to date, as his portion of Terminator Salvation begins to take shape.
"There's a very strong scene in the film where John Connor for the first time meets the Terminator, and he doesn't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy," said Kickinger.
"It's Arnold's character in the first Terminator. That's basically my role, but 20 years before, so it establishes how the Terminator [came] about."Plus, believe it or not... you can check out a teaser trailer for the movie right now online: www.filmschoolrejects.com/news/terminator-salvation-the-future-begins-with-a-teaser.phpKen

Will Linda Hamilton Be Back for Terminator Salvation?www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=51891There's been a lot of rumors about the return of the "Governator" Arnold Schwarzenegger for McG's upcoming Terminator Salvation, and while McG remained mum about whether these rumors were true at a special Terminator Salvation roadshow event on Monday night, ComingSoon.net did see some cool footage and learned a lot about the plot and the direction for the upcoming franchise relaunch.
We'll save that for our comprehensive write-up of the event which you can read sometime tomorrow, though we may have figured out one of the "secrets" McG alluded to during the presentation. After the presentation was over, we talked with McG at the cocktail reception that followed and asked him whether he planned on doing any sort of recap of the first three movies as an introduction for those who didn't get a chance to see them. He said they were still trying to figure out what to do, but one option they came up with was to have Sarah Connor do a voiceover to open the movie. We didn't press him on this idea he tossed out, but we're now wondering whether maybe he was going to try and convince Linda Hamilton, the original Sarah Connor, to come out of "Terminator" retirement to provide that voiceover or just find a soundalike. The former option certainly would be a nice surprise for longtime fans of the series if they could make it happen.
Earlier in the Q & A segment of the presentation, McG was asked about the plans to shoot two back-to-back sequels to Terminator Salvation and he released another tidbit of what to expect in a fifth movie if it were to happen. He has spent some time with Jonah Nolan arcing out what the story for the next two movies might be and he hinted that "time travel has yet to be explored" in the upcoming movie, and that it would be one of the themes of the next movie. Since the plot of "Salvation" involves Christian Bale's John Connor trying to save Anton Yelchin's Kyle Reese, who would later go back in time and father John, a sequel may deal with some of the things leading up to Kyle going back in time to save Sarah from the original T-800.Ken

Hamilton Confirms She'll be Back for Terminatorwww.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=53060Linda Hamilton has confirmed what Terminator Salvation director McG first hinted at last month - she'll be back to do a voiceover as Sarah Connor. Hamilton told MTV:
"We are talking"... "I haven't read it yet. I don't know what direction they will go in."
While she awaits the specifics in a script, Hamilton already knows what her role generally would be. "My contribution would be voiceover," she said. "I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is. Wait and see. They're already writing it. We've been negotiating it.Ken

This is cool news. I would love to have another Terminator movie with Linda doing the voiceover. It might actually make it feel like a real Terminator movie, and not that stinker T3.
