Ummm......The take off should be cool but who's going to land it?

Wait a second....You actually want to be in that thing when they set it off?!?!!? You might as well strap yourself to one of those Acme rockets like Wile E. Coyote! ;D

Yeah, I would too.......Well, actually I'd rather pilot the Falcon. I'd get me a pair of fuzzy dice and hang them in the window of the cockpit and then I'd pimp it out.....maybe put some flames down the side of it and then I'd put a chrome radar dish on it and some lights underneath it.

Harry - Don't forget the killer sound system with some intergallactic sub-woofers. Seriously, though...is that thing (the X-wing) for real? Let me get this straight, these people built a huge mock-up of an X-wing fighter, only to blast it up into the air with no way of controlling it? -GCR

;D ;D ;D Oh, yeah.....my Corillian sub-woofers. I forgot about those. ;D They'd be blasting the P-Diddy version of the Imperial March. ;D As far as the X-Wing goes that appears to be the case. It's just like a giant bottle rocket. Yeah, I suspect a lawsuit surrounding this at some point.....along with maybe a death or at the very least some dismemberment.

The droid on board the craft was uninjured, but failed to pass a sobriety test." ;D -GCR

I hope they don't choose one of those chubby people to fly in it. That narrows it down to about two or three guys in the photo.

I don't think they ever properly planned it out from a stress point of view. Let's face it, the X-Wing is a fictional craft that would require alot of stabilization to fly properly. That would require more weight, then more power, etc.... just to make a design work that should never really work anyway. But, it was cool to see it fly... even if only for a few moments. The sound of the launch itself was cool too. Ken

Was the other one a Y-Wing? That lasted a little bit longer before it fell apart. I have to say there for that few seconds when the X-Wing was taking off my heart was racing because it was pretty damn cool to see that ship actually flying for real.

okay that WAS pretty cool... though it rather hurt to see it disintegrate after those few seconds...lol next time they should try to start it from horizontal position like in the movies, not with the nose up like a rocket.

Hahaha......I think that would be even worse if they launched it like that. The thing would shoot off down the desert like a shoulder fired missle. Lord help the person who happens to get in it's way. ;D
