Any of you who are into Heroes? (it's my guilty pleasure!). George Takei has just joined as Hiro's father. Just check out his license plate!

I haven't seen the show but isn't it about ordinary people who discover they have super powers and all the drama and problems that go along with that. If that's the case, it sounds an awful lot of like a certain very popular comic book and film franchise. Again, I haven't seen it so my impression may be wrong.

I watch it and it's one of my favorite new shows. Hiro is probably my favorite character. I guess I don't understand though how his powers are fading if they come from his genetic makeup. Maybe it's some kind of mental block.
Havana, your talking about Rising Stars. I thought the same thing when it was first announced. Although, in Rising Stars it basically explained the meteor effected every pregnant woman in that town that it passed over before it crashed so it basically gave all of the unborn kids special powers. Heroes hasn't really explained how exactly these people got their powers yet. I'm guessing they're genetic but I'm not sure.
I lost interest in Rising Stars a long time ago and I don't even know if it's still being made. So far though I'm enjoying this show a lot more than I ever did that comic.

Havana, the synopsis does read a lot like Xmen! But it's done in a very fresh way without all the baggage that Xmen brings with it. I was dubious at first but it's one of my favourites this year.
But hey I LOVE BSG too so my tastes may be a bit skewed! LOL

Yeah, I guess you could compare it to X-Men as well. This show and the "Heroes" remind me more of the Rising Stars comic than X-Men though. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rising_Stars

Yeah its one of my favorite shows right now. It is the best thing about Mondays!
I'm not really a comic book kinda guy so I can't really comment about it in terms of xmen or anything else, but it is the most intriguing show on TV in my opinion.

But hey I LOVE BSG too so my tastes may be a bit skewed! LOL Save the cheerleader! KT, what do you mean without the baggage? I don't understand. By baggage I mean the 30 odd years of backstory that the X-Men has, the fans demand a certain type of story and it all seems to be winks to the past that really doesn't exisit in the movies. I enjoyed the X-men films, 1 & 2 were almost perfect and I even enjoyed 3. It's a shame they decided that it was time to kill off so many characters in 3, it was purely a financial choice, that way any X4 could happen with less of the older cast. Now, with Heroes you have a chance to join it on the ground floor, there isn't 30 years worth of story to catch up on, and this makes it easier to get on board. But better get on soon because there's a whole years worth of episodes to catch up on. The first series is hurtling towards a conclusion to the story arc. They say the second season will be "Volume 2 & 3" with a different story. (Whatever that means!).

Well, there's two episodes left for the this season and I'm sitting on the edge of my seat. I hope Sylar doesn't kill Hiro!
Man, usually I have an idea where a show is headed but between this and Lost I have no idea. ;D
That future episode that aired last week was great. I really want to see Peter and Sylar go at it......no holding back.

Well,
The 2nd season is coming to its end on December 3rd, that means 4 more episodes, Personally I didnt like the 2nd series, too much vague and long, boring stuff.

I watched the 1st year when it came out on DVD and thought it was fantastic. I also have to agree that the second season seems a bit slow, however we are only about 8 episodes in. Pitfall you are 100% right about the similarities of Rising Stars Cheers, G-MANN
