You sick bast-s! I'm talking about gear! For adding dust and stuff to a picture, I use the opacity slider on the top of the window when paintbrush is selected. The smaller the opacity number, the less strong the color stroke will be on the first swipe. Use the dropper to select a shade of dirt in the original picture, then experiment with the opacity slider once you've selected the paintbrush you want to use. The best way is to practice a few times (you can always click "undo") until you see the shade or pressure you want to use for dust. You can go over the same section many times to get that cloudy, dusty look to it. That's really all there is to it. Practice a few times with a picture (save it with a different name first so you don't destroy the original) and just experiment with the opacity slider. It's a great way to add touches to something without painting over the original image entirely.

Thanks for the tip! There are so many tools and ways to get things done in Photoshop, not even counting the filters... that it takes a different approach sometimes. Once in a while, we should all just start pushing buttons and see what happens.... Seriously, I had never adjusted the opacity level of the brushes before, so that is a huge help to me. Many thanks, Ken

Ah, I wonder how you did that. Thanks! By the way, I love your sig! ;D Thanks, J_Weaver. Have one! Once in a while, we should all just start pushing buttons and see what happens.... Funny you should say that. That's pretty much how I find stuff out. Pick a feature or a tool on the program and mess with it till its function makes sense to me. Next, the help files. There are only about 89,000 other things it can do that I have no clue about, which is why the usual reaction is "OH MY GOSH! That is SO COOL! I can't believe this will do that!" when I find that thing that does that thing I've been hoping it could. Now, in the hands of Indakin and KT Templar, it's a whole different level of quality. For folks like me, I just mess with a picture until it starts to look kind of like what I was going for. Just playing with the features and messing up pictures on purpose to see what happens.
