Here are some documents from Raiders to fill in some of the back story to the beginning of the movie. I am trying to find things to put in Indy's notebook, the one he has with him in the Maproom. I know most of you call this the Ark Diary/Journal. I wanted something new, different.

First is the Chachapoyan Map. I took the coloration from the front and added it to the back as well. The paper is brown craft paper, wrinkled and then ironed. Ironing really gives paper that crisp old feel. Then a nice easy rip job on the edges and some black marker and sparcely applied burning on the fringes.

How did Indy get the map? How did he know about it? I am going to make a letter from the archeologist that the character was based on telling Jonesy about it, Roy Andrews Chapman. He sent these lost journal pages from anthropologist Adolph F. Bandelier, along with only one piece of the map, telling of his rediscovery of the Chachapoyan Temple. Chapman also warns Indy about Forrestal.

Indy would have done his homework on this guy. A page ripped out of his encyclopedia on Bandelier. (made up)

And of course the all famous Communique and Dutch Bible.

I finished the backside of the Dutch Bible page to make it more real. That side was much easier.
