Okay, Rock Ford wants one. Anyone else? As my time seems to be slipping from me, this MAY be a limited run, so if you want one, please let me know.

So there you have it. Indy got his BA from the University of Chicago in linguistics. Since Peril in Delphi takes place in 1925, and Indy was a student at the Sorbonne, it would make sense that his degree was in linguistics, but from the Sorbonne, not the University of Chicago. He had already graduated from the U. of Chicago with his degree in Archaeology, and was a 3rd year linguistics student at the Sorbonne where he met Dorian Belecamus.

Right, when Belecamus told him that it would not be too hard for him to change his focus from linguistics to archeology. I believe that it says somewhere in the novel how Indy was trained by his father to follow a career in linguistics and how much he really disliked learning Latin and Ancient Greek while all of the other children were out playing. The only reason I believe that he would have gotten his BA in linguistics is that I can't really think of a reason why someone would get a Bachelor's degree in one field, then switch competely for his Masters and Ph.D. And why Belecamuc would need to try so hard (seducing him even) to get him to change is focus to something that he already has a BA in. I think during the conversation they had in cafe with his old professor and Belecamus Indy or the professor would have mentioned that he already has some experience in the field. I, personally, saw no evidence, in that scene especially, that gave any indication that he had delved into archeology at all, ever. If you could find something that I haven't that mentions this, I would be very interested in it. I read through all of the timeline at "TheRaider.net" and it just said that he went to U ofC. I guess this may be one of those things that each person will have their own opinion about.

The DK "Ultimate Guide" lists the following timeline for Indy's college life:
1919 Sep: Indy returns to the United States to attend the University of Chicago 1920 Jan: Indy and close friend, Harold Oxley, begin studying under Abner Ravenwood, and meet Abner's daughter, Marion Ravenwood. 1921 Mar: Indy forms a fast friendship with fellow Chicago student and saxophonist, Jack Shannon. 1922 May: Indy is unknowingly drawn into a plot to topple King Constantine of Greece, engineered by Indy's Sorbonne archaeology professor, Dorian Belecamus. 1922 Jun: Indy graduates from the University of Chicago 1922 July: Indy takes postgraduate coursed in linguistics at the Sorbonne.
Unfortunately, this timeline shows an overlap between Indy's graduation from the University of Chicago, and the beginning of his studies at the Sorbonne.
It is not uncommon for someone to get their undergraduate degree in one field, and their graduate degree in another field. Since Indy had a knack for picking up foreign languages fairly easily since childhood, it would not be surprising for an archaeologist who would be traveling the world and studying ancient cultures to want to specialize in foreign languages.

Also, the timelime is in error. Jack Shannon plays the trumpet, not he saxaphone. It was Indy who played the sax.

"Peril in Delphi": Opens with prologue dated 1922. Chapter One time line states "Chicage-two years earlier" which would make it 1920. These are the chapters on Indy's graduation in Chicago so it would be May 23, 1920 not 1922. "Delphi" timeline doesn't change again until chapter 3 when it returns to "Paris - October1922".
At least in the copy of "Delphi" that I have. Was there an earlier edition with a different timeline?
