Sometimes you have to make do with what you've got until you can save up to get something better..... Although, in my case I ended up spending money on a hat that wasn't really worth it. I could have put that $88 towards the hat I own now and saved myself the trouble.

indianadirk, That is a nice Fedora, we all start somewhere and VERY few start out with an AB. It took me about 25 years and 8 hats to get there myself. But it's a great ride getting there. Cheers, John

Yeah , i got a great idea last night , iam gonna try to reshape a akubra snowy river hat , on my own. i popped the crown , and trimmed/sanded the brim. heres a small pic ! its not great but it looks cooL also Marc ? is it possible to resize a larger size hat to a smaller size ?

Certainly. As long as you don't want a melon hat to fit a peanut noggin', no problem. The rawbodies however come in various sizes and there's a reason for this. But to shrink down a hat one or two sizes is absolutely possible.

Marc

If it's only one size, I'd try with the ol' lamp shade trick for sure:
Dampen the inside of the sweatband (I said DAMP not wet) and turn the lamp shade upside down, so you can make the hat sit on it, with the bulp shining into the crown. Leave it there for 5-6 min. Try it on and if it's still too lose, put it back without doing anything to the sweatband furthermore. Repeat to check every 5-6 min. and you should be fine.
Regards,
Marc
P.S. This only works on a real leather sweatband and you've gotta be REAL carefull not to dampen the wool, because THEN it'll taper BADLY!!!
