Amanzingly detailed for a scale 1/35. Well done.

I tip my hat to you sir. That is a really cool replica / model of the truck. You did a fantastic job making it basically from scratch and using the photos as a guide. The detail of the model is very well done. The first two pics of the model made me believe it was bigger than it actually is. About the only small suggestion I have for it would be to maybe dirty it up a little more. The red seems to be a little bit to deep. I wonder if you could use Fuller's Earth on it to give it a "dusty look"? Other then that you could fool anyone into believing it was a model prop from one of the movies.

Truly magnificent work Havana! Wow, you really did a fine job on this, and mentioned above... the level of detail for this scale is exceptional! I would love to work this into a Photoshop adventure, as it's just so cool. Very well done, Ken

Thanks for the comments, guys. The red color did turn out a bit brighter than I would have liked. The photos were shot outside in very bright conditions which made it look even brighter still. Of course, the beauty of something like photoshop is that you can easily isolate the red spectrum and darken it down to your preferences. Some of those pics are way too close to the model to be believable, like the 1st one. The next to the last shot is most realistic to me. It's far enough away to not see the brush strokes but not so far that you lose the detail. Again, in photoshop you can shrink it, adjust the detail, or do just about anything. If anybody wants some more pics, I can send some via PM.

What would have really added to the detail would have been to have a little driver in there as well. I don't know how hard that would be to make a figure like that to fit inside of it though.

AWESOME! You kit-bashed this thing?! From different scales also?! That truck looks terrific! Especially considering all those factors, that is an amazing job! The red doesn't look bad at all, but if you had the gumption to repaint it - "Go take a flying leap, Tone" - I believe (Brown/Red/White). Mix heavier in the white and that would give you a nice faded orangish/red/rust/brown look just like the film truck. That is some nice work, Havana!
