Impressive ! That jacket looks really broken-in and...well, distressed. (naturally distressed I mean) By the way... Nice job on th PS pic too !! The idea of the blurry background really adds to the realism of the image.

Thank you very much Stefana! I just used the same background as the scene, but posted the entire photo of me which showed more jacket, then cropped it. The real scene is in the Photo Gallery - "Indy Rescues Sallah". But, it didn't give me much room to show how nice I though the jacket looked in this shot. Ok... now I'm rambling... thanks again, Ken

Thank you much! The only PS dirt in that shot is on the hat. There is some Fuller's Earth on it, of course... and the same distressing job I had done on it a while back. I'm glad you like it! Ken

I always thought any "distressing" I saw on your jacket was done with PS. It never occurred to me that you'd been working on distressing your lamb in real life. The only thing I've done to my goat since I got it was add the Fullers Earth. Then I cleaned that off because I wear it everyday now and I couldn't look like I just climbed out of a cave. ;D I love my goat but I'd still like to own a lamb skin one someday. It doesn't say this on my other black leather jacket but I believe that is lamb skin. It's reaaaally soft. I really like the jacket I just haven't worn it since I got the Wested. I feel like my Wested is my "good luck" jacket for some reason. ;D

Well, keep in mind that I have two Westeds . The goatskin is still in clean, normal wear mode.. and will stay that way. I bought this lambskin one from G-Mann way back in March or April (I forget) and distressed it right away. indylounge.proboards105.com/index.cgi?board=distressing&action=display&thread=1147839749The only thing I have done to it recently was add a coat of Pecards, let it dry really well, then add more Fuller's Earth for halloween. It's stored in the gear trunk, all balled up in a wad, while the goatskin stays on a thick wooden hanger. I would never have been able to do any distressing on the "only" jacket I had. Ken

That's a terrific looking jacket - very Indy! Also I like the quality of the photo - I can almost feel the leather. Incidently, is that dark brown or authentic?
Looks like someone photoshopped your bullwhip out of your hands.

Looks like someone photoshopped your bullwhip out of your hands. I think his hands are that way in the shot because this shot was ment for riding the camel. So it looks like he's holding onto the camels saddle reigns.

Very nice jacket, and broken in real nice, too. My G&B still looks way too new, and it's getting too cold to wear it, sadly. I can't wait to get some "break in" time for it. I can still wear my Wested goat, though. Probably wear it most of the winter. 'Blues

Thank ya kindly Miss Canyon. I just put another layer of Pecards on it last night, and exchanged the D-rings for sliders on both jackets. I've have them for a while, but finally got around to doing it. The jacket looks alot better with the richness added to it.
Thanks again,
Ken

Hey Ken does the jacket look darker and more black because of the distressing or the PS effects and lighting? My wetsed lamb has padding in the shoulders that is some what noticable also, does this go away with breakin? I noticed yours don't seem to have that bulk in the top of the shoulders there.

None of mine have any padding in the shoulders... The color you see pictures in this thread is the actual color of the jacket. Much of the lighter highlights in certain areas is really just Fullers Earth. Ken

I've owned two Wested Lambskin jackets and neither ever had that...this is really weird. How new (or old) is your jacket? Was it a custom job or "off the rack"? Is it really thick padding, or just barely noticeable? -GCR

Yeah the jacket is only about a month old. I ordered the off the rack Raiders. I figured that meant that it was a standard size ready to ship and the same quality as the customs. There is a little bit of padding in the tops of each shoulder, it can be slighlty noticable depending on how I'm standing. It can also make the jacket feel alittle uncomfortable. The customs are just for sizing or material changes right?

Here's my distressed lamb. Seems a little more mat in the surface. Indy-K

Great shot, Indy-K! Is your distressed lamb of the dark-brown, Wested variety? -GCR

Dont think so GCR, I asked Peter to make it as much standard as possible, since this is the jacket we used for the photos on his website. In other words - if You order a Wested lamb, off-the-rack, this is what You should get. This photo is the exact same jacket before distressing: Indy-K

Choosing dark brown or authentic is just a basic decision at Wested, so neither one is standard. In that lighting, I would guess that your's is dark brown... though that can be tricky to get right based on one photo. A shot in full sun or an indoor flash shot will flush out an authentic brown Wested any day though.
No matter what, your jacket is looking very relaxed and well worn. I just wish Peter didn't make those pockets so stinking tall. Aside from the bottom sleeve socket joint being too low, the extra large pockets are my biggest gripe with Wested jackets.
