For the heck of it, I contacted US Wings about their factory seconds sale, and asked if they had any Indy jackets left in size small. After a long pause, the sales person came back on the phone and said they had one left in calf hide/skin.
I almost bought the jacket anyway, considering the price, but I had no idea what she was talking about and I'm not sure she knew.
What the heck does that look like? Do you guys know?

I hear calf is very soft and at this link... indylounge.proboards105.com/index.cgi?board=jacket&action=display&thread=1171591469... Is a picture of the new coat Todd is offering in calf skin. The USwings coat may not look like this one, but it sort of gives you an idea of what calf is like. I hear calf is really soft, looks like tight grained cowhide, and drapes and creases almost like lamb, but it's hard to find real calfskin as there are a few fakes circulating around. Hope this helps!!

Steve The look depends on the finish I suppose. But Calf skin would be a good choice, thinner than cow obviously perhaps thicker than lamb. At that price, go for it. See if you can get some details. Ie doea the jacket have 3 piece sleeves, what exactly makes it a second?

Thanks gents. KT, what US Wings' web site says is that these are jackets with slight imperfections that are allegedly hardly noticeable. I don't remember all of the details.
The strange thing is, they don't even list "calfskin" as an option on their Indy jackets.
Could this be an imported Protocol or whatever?

I'm afraid that I don't know. US Wings charge $160 a jacket to ship outside the US, so I may never know! lol!
