Hey guys, I just got my Wested today and I'm so upset.. this jacket does not fit me, nothing is right on it and i swear its not the jacket i ordered at all, i truly think they sent me someone Else's jacket..I'm sending this jacket back.. ..I asked for 24 inch sleeves and this jacket has 22 inch sleeves ..the body has to be a 38 not a forty with the eighties fit..My other jacket is a 40 and its got so much more room in it...I'm absolutely disappointed.. Sincerely, Prof.Wex

Profwex,
Wow, I'm really sorry to hear this news. It sounds like you are correct in assuming that you got the wrong jacket since everything is WAY off.
I would return it too. I guess I was lucky when I ordered mine that they got 95% of the order correct. All that was left off was the x-box stitching.
Cheers, G-MANN

I can't understand it , I mean bussines is bussiness , the customer is King , I can't believe they ship out jackets that are not the way the customer wants it , without notifying them
I think it's unacceptable , and thats why I don't want to do bussines with Wested.

Sorry to hear that Wex. It does seem like you got someone else's order altogether. That many problems on the same Wested jacket are rare. Still, the frustration of having waited is something else. I think your jacket might be there at the factory or on its way to someone else but it really does sound like you received someone else's jacket in this case.
Well, let's hope that's the case. Either way, write Wested ASAP to let them know what happened.
Sorry, man.

That sounds like they sent you the wrong jacket. Follow the instructions and send it back. But send an email to Gemma first and tell her tell her it's on the way. No excuse, they should refund you the return postage. Make sure you mark the package and documetation 'JACKET PURCHASED FROM ENGLAND AND BEING RETURNED FOR ALTERATION/REPAIR' and 'RETURNED GOODS'.

Hey KT, thanks for the tip..ill be sure and mark my package like that..Guys Ive measured and remeasured the sleeves and they are 22 inches, with the tape measurer pulled really tight you can get 22 and a half..i have my order still saved in my email and it says 24 inch sleeves, so just for that one reason I'm sending it back..i also asked for square sliders and this jacket has d rings..the sliders i can look past but why have it as an option if nobody seems to ever get them..the only things they got right are the underarm gussets and the x box stitching, this would make a fine jacket for a teenager, but I'm a grown man..i just cant wear it..I will say this though the Horse Hide is amazing, just too bad ill have to wait another 2 months or to get it back.. Sincerely, Prof.Wex p.s. I'm taking pictures right now, I'm trying not to put it on to much so most of the pics will be the jacket laid flat with a clothing tape measurer to show size..theyll be up in just a bit..

You won't have to wait another 2 months. As far as Wested are concerned, if you return your jacket, your order is not complete and you go to the top of the list. My first Wested was too large - I sent it back and had the new one in under 2 weeks.

OUCH...there is nothing, NOTHING in this hobby worse than waiting a month or two (or more) for a brand new piece of gear and then having it finally show up and there's soemthing WRONG...I've been there myself. I would agree that the mistake must have been in the shipping address, and hopefully your real jacket is already made and is out there somewhere and just needs to get redirected to you. Best of luck getting this all sorted out. BTW, (not to rub it in...just curious) am I the ONLY one here who got a Wested without any problems or issues? I'm not being sarcastic or anything, I'm geniunely curious. I noticed John (G-MANN) say that he got his Wested and it was 95% correct...and it made me think, is getting an order 100% correct that much of a rarity from them these days? I mean, I know some folks have had issues, but what gives??? It didn't use to be like this 5 or 6 years ago...it really is a shame. Anyways, best of luck on getting the new jacket sorted out, Wex. -GCR

Yeah, I'm not sure how you normally wear your jackets, but I'd say, judging by this pic that this jacket wasn't meant for you...hopefully it'll get worked out soon. -GCR

Stop wearing Canyon's jacket already! ;D
Wex, that's obviously not your jacket. Pagey's right in that the order does not get rotated back into the line, it gets remedied very quickly. Just go by the numbers in getting it fixed. (Don't count too much on the cost of shipping it back to them being reimbursed, though.)

My Wested was what I ordered, but then again, the only mod I asled for was an extra 1" in the front. (turns out I don't need it ) I've had for over 3 years, I think...(lord how time flies), but it seems like Weted's OC has really gone down the drain lately. It seems like 98% of people are having issues. I still want a slimmer fitting more screen accurate jacket, but to be honest, it won't be a Wested. Its just too much hassle if something is wrong with the jacket to return it and no more goatskin.

Theoretically, that isn't an 80's fit. 80's is not supposed to have the facing on the zipper. (of course that might be a myth). But it's one of the reasons the "Worn look lamb will be cheaper", no zipper facing and simpler inside pocket. ie less leather).

Prof.Wex,
Sorry to hear and see that you probably got someone else's jacket. I'm hoping that's the reason for it being so off anyway. My two suggestions to go along with all the other great advice so far:
1. When they get you the right jacket made (if they can't locate your's or this is it and it's wrong, so they have to make another)... get them to give you smaller pockets. Those suckers are way too big for that size of a jacket.
2. Stay on Gemma about the shipping fees. I repeat, stay on Gemma about the shipping fees. Even if you do, they are notorius for either NOT reimbursing you for shipping costs (which in this case it Wested's responsibility), or they just ignore it altogether. You have to be polite but firm in getting ALL your money back for shipping. Sending this jacket back with insurance could cost you $40 -$50, depending on packing. That is not a small chunk of change.
I speak from experience on both of these issues, and hope they take care of the problem for you quickly.
Ken

Hey Guys and Gals, Thanks for all the helpful information, .. I have emailed Wested but i probably wont hear from them till tomorrow, BTW, If this is a forty regular with the eighties fit then would wested give me a 42 regular with the eighties fit in the exchange, since the sleeves are obviously to short, and i asked for the small raiders pockets and the ones i got are 6 and a half inches wide and 8 inches high..those seem way off, plus i asked for the square sliders and they gave me the d rings..THIS JUST CANT BE THE JACKET I ORDERED>>NO WAY.. Sincerely, Prof.Wex

Hey Guys,
I haven't received any word back from Wested, So should I go ahead and mail it back today, or do i need to wait on them to email me back. I have a written out a order stating everything that was wrong with the jacket I received and everything that needs to be changed such as the sleeves, ect...So what should I do? mail it or wait for them to respond???
Sincerely, Prof.Wex

I would wait to hear from Wested first. Communication is one of their weakpoints, IMO.... so I would make sure they understand what the problem is first. This will also give you the opportunity to clarify that shipping will need to be reimbursed by them, since this is not the right jacket.
I would hate to see you put this thing in the mail, only to find out that they don't see it your way when it arrives.

Definitely wait for Wested to respond before shipping. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with your jacket. I've ordered 3 Wested's over the years and never had any problems whatsoever. Maybe I was lucky or maybe just better at measuring. It seems that Wested needs to step up the quality control. More and more people seem to be having problems and it's tarnishing their reputation.

Hey Havana,
I did measure myself but its undeniable that the sleeves are not right on the jacket i was sent..If you ask for 24 inch sleeves and you get 22 inch sleeves then its probably just the wrong jacket..At least in my case..I still have a copy of my order in my email and it definitely says 24 inch sleeves..and i always wear a 40 regular, maybe i made a mistake for asking for the 80s fit, I didn't think it would make the jacket that much smaller, but i could be wrong.. I still haven't heard from wested, so i still don't know exactly what happened.. anyway as soon as i get it worked out ill post more pics for comparison..
Sincerely, Prof.Wex

Hey Prof.Wex,
Any word from Wested about your jacket yet? They can be very frustrating to deal with at times, so I'm hoping you caught things during a "normal" phase. The way your jacket arrived leads me to believe that all is not well in the kingdom right now.
Just checking,
Ken
