Boy… It’s good to be back. Those Facebook pages are full of all kinds of negativity. What a bummer to see “fans” roasting the production of Indy V alive. It’s nice to still be apart of a forum that is so supportive and excited about our hero.
Anyhow; let’s chat!
The new Fedora, I presume, is made by HJ (expected). I personally was rooting for John, though, because that guy has been putting in some work the past decade. I hear he is ill and I wish him the best and cheers for good health. The new hat, though, is looking a bit like a LC pinch, Temple crown height, and a Raiders brim. Awfully odd combo, if you ask me.
Also, has anyone purchased a HJ in the past few years? If so, how is it holding up? Their quality just doesn’t strike me as crisp as it used to look. Their badges have looked a bit lazy lately.

I've been out of the loop interest-wise for years now, but it's not surprising to hear that online forums anywhere are currently tearing apart whatever hat/clothing choices they go with for the new movie.
I know it's true of whatever people gather online to talk about, but it's still so petty. It's a movie or TV show or whatever..... and it will never be perfectly made according to each person's tastes. No matter how good (or bad in the case of Indy 4) the story, production, etc.. are, there will always be mistakes and choices each of us would have made differently.
I'm not saying we shouldn't want the people involved to really care about it and give it their best efforts. But in the end, there are too many people involved in all of those decisions and they all rarely come together with the same vision to create a masterpiece. I'll go see the new movie and hope it's a great one, in the vein of the first three. If it isn't, I'm not going to be heartbroken because I already have lower expectations based on the last one they did.
Let's face it, Harrison doesn't look like he did in the 80's (though he'll pretty much be in his 80's in this new movie), so why would all of the character's clothes look exactly the same as they did back then? Does the man just never shop for anything new?
I have no stomach for people arguing about such things and am glad I am not part of that crowd. That's actually one of the reasons we started this forum 15 years ago, to avoid the constant fighting about details in a place controlled by people who thrived on maintaining control. We just wanted a place people to talk about the gear (or whatever interested them), share their creativity and have some fun in a bicker free zone. Though my interests moved on long, long ago... I still value the same concepts and don't get why people would invest so much of their time arguing or stressing out about anything online.
