That's a beauty. It sure got dark over the years.
Just look at them wide cut, beveled strands of thick 'roo hide! To me, that is one of the signatures of a DM whip.

Looking at this again I notice that the knots are different colours. Did they start off that way or just darken naturally.

Thankyou to you all for the kind words about this beauty, I really appreciate it.
As for the knots they were always slightly darker than the rest but ofcourse the whole whip was lighter when I brought it, 22 years and greasing it from time to time has darkened it with age. I always compared it to a Temple of Doom or Last Crusade whip as it got darker.
Anyway, I hope you are all having a great weekend!

I know this is a stupid question. But how can you tell that it's never been cracked.
I'm new to whips so it's just a newbie looking to learn more:)

You could also say that the whitehide fall has never been changed,
and it's yellow from all the pecards over time, also the cracker
has never been changed and the tassle is obviously not used
on it.

I agree! In my definition, he's an expert, I mean Mr. M MAKES whips, although he's told me that he doesn't consider himself so. I DISAGREE!!!
