Wow, you mean he's still got great ideas left over even after Crystal Skull? Amazing.

Crystal Skull was a pretty good way to go out? Really?
I think if they were looking for a good way to go out, they should have stopped at Last Crusade. I mean... that movie was the perfect cap to the trilogy. Indy reunites with his father, realizes there are more important things that artificats (by giving up the Grail) and they all ride off into the sunset,... the perfect way to go out.

God I'm fed up of all the TOD and CS bad mouthing, if you didn't like them just don't watch them. I like all 4 films, they all have they're high and low points. seems nowadays everybody is a film critic...

I like all 4 films, they all have they're high and low points. seems nowadays everybody is a film critic... Then again, we're all welcome to offer our opinions here... good or bad. If I don't happen to like what they did to the Indy franchise, I say so. We are all film critics, deciding what we like and don't like. If you are fed up with all the CS bad mouthing (I've never seen any TOD complaints here), just don't read them. Just giving you a hard time there... Ken

By the way I hope my last comment wasn't taken as being rude or anything. I didn't like CS much when it came out. The 2nd viewing was better, the 3rd time I tought it was ok and by the 4th I liked it as much as the others. I do think you should give it a 2nd chance one day; it's not like giving Legally Blonde 2 a second chance...

I know myself better than anyone, and seeing KOTCS again isn't going to change all the things I hated about it the first time. Ken

KOTCS will always hold a place in my heart because it was the first Indy movie I took my son to the show to see. Sure we enjoyed the original trilogy hundreds of times, but at home thanks to the VHS/DVD's. Was KOTCS the worse movie ever? God no. I could think of plenty movies that are much worse. Was it the best Indy movie? No. But was I entertained when I saw it? Yes I was. I cringed when I saw Mutt swinging through the jungle. My son and I looked at each other with a look of surprize. But if I'm gonna let that VERY BAD scene alter my life or my Indy enjoyment, then maybe I should just sell all my Indy gear off and start watching the Jonas Bros. It's entertainment so I make the best of it.

I sat down with a couple of friends and watched all four over a couple of sittings recently.
It's quite nice to do that and really chat about the tings you like and don't like.
It was also a good opportunity to watch it properly, not the gear focussed way we end up watching it after being on these boards for a while.
I was again blown away by the pace and inventiveness of Raiders, I loved ToD anew, it's a cracking story.
Last crusade, the whole River Phoenix section is redundant, sure I loved it as a kid but it really rankled now and VERY surprisingly to me the tone in the train chase is VERY similar to the college chase in CS. The rest of it I still really like, watch the opening scene with Marcus again, you see the spark of the Marcus from raiders there! Yes the rest of it is a 'romp' but a fun way to go out.
CS... there are some atmospheric and fun parts. The opening warehouse scene is great. But as soon as they hit the jungle.... OMG it just dies. The much vaunted jungle case is just so fake it hurts, 30 years ago in Raiders they nailed it, with the technology they have these days what went wrong?? The temple and the treasure room is uninspired and well looks lazy. It LOOKS like a prop store!
Anyway I still enjoyed it. If they make another, perhaps this has knocked a few of those cobwebs off, and Spielberg, please give Unit 2 and Vic Armstrong a call? Maybe they can fit you in between Bonds!

What's Larry Kasdan been up to lately? Maybe Spielberg should give him a call.

Have you guys noticed that in each film there is always an action sequence with Indy in civilian outfit? en every story except for the first one. I wished in the last crusade he would have used the "Streets of Cairo" look, without the jacket.
