Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on DVDwww.theraider.net/news/fullstory_merchandise.php?id=878Several websites are spreading information on the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull DVD release. And while we are still waiting for an official announcement from Paramount I assume that the following collected info is reliable:
Release date The film is supposed to be released on DVD in October, aimed for a worldwide release. The release in Australia is set for Thursday, 30 October 2008 while other sources claim other dates.
DVD/Blu-ray According to The Digital Bits, Indiana Jones 4 will definitely be released on DVD, while Blu-ray is undecided at the moment.
Versions Apparently there are at least 2 different editions planned:
* Special Single Disc Edition
* Limited Edition 2 Disc Box Set plus BONUS Crystal Skull Replica.
And we may also see a 'Quadrilogy' Box Set featuring all four Indy films.

Well, we all aready know that this DVD will sell a lot anyway... [/quote] That's true. And I will add it to my collection. Anyway...not trying to stir up trouble/controversy. Scott

Indiana Jones Comes to Blu-ray in Octoberwww.blu-ray.com/news/?id=1646Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' to Blu-ray on October 14th, day-and-date with the DVD release. No technical specs have been announced at this time, though you can expect the typical 1080p AVC video and Dolby TrueHD treatment from Paramount.
Extras will include a segment on how the new movie evolved over its long development period; a production diary including glimpses of location shoots in New Mexico, Connecticut and Hawaii; and segments on makeup, visual effects and the crystal skulls at the heart of the action.
It was also revealed that while a DVD box set with all four Indiana Jones films will also be released, there are currently no plans to bring the remainder of the series to Blu-ray.Ken

No Blu-Ray for the original trilogy? Is this 2008 (soon to be 2009) or have I fallen into a time warp and reawakened in 2004? Are they waiting to see if HD-DVD rises from the dead? Or are they just trying to unload all the leftover original trilogy DVD's still lying around from their last attempt at double dipping in May?
6 months from now...Paramount is happy to announce a Blu-ray boxset that you can also buy. It's a collectible because it comes with special features like a tour of the parking lot at Skywalker Ranch and a featurette revealing the ILM secrets behind George Lucas's hair. Box sets: you can never have too many so just keep buying them.

Box sets: you can never have too many so just keep buying them. Do you have any idea how "structurely sound" you can make an old refrigrerator box with DVD and VHS box sets? I don't either, but I'm sure some of us are going to learn, if we keep buying all of these damn box sets Lucas keeps coming out with. 'Blues

After the announcement about the release date there was no mention about the skull replica in a box set, as seen earlier in this thread. Only a 2 disc edition, blu-ray and the set with all 4 movies. Unless it`s just for some countries.
