Who's Returning for Transformers 2?www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=45511There's been a lot of questions about who from the first film will return for Transformers 2, which hits theaters on June 26, 2009 release.
We knew that Shia LaBeouf would be back and that Isabel Lucas and Rainn Wilson (playing a college professor to LaBeouf's new undergrad) had been added, but now The Hollywood Reporter has also confirmed that Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro will reprise their roles in the Michael Bay sequel.
The story was conceived by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who wrote last year's Transformers, as well as Ehren Kruger, who wrote the screenplay. Filming began in Los Angeles in recent weeks and is moving to Pennsylvania on June 2nd and then overseas.Ken

Bay to Fox: "Just Look Hot"www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=46153MTV talked to Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen star Megan Fox, who says that the sequel is "is 10 times as big, 10 times as many set pieces, explosions, and acrobatic stunts."
She added that "Shia and I make out a little bit; I don't know if anyone wants to see that."
Fox says that they have been reworking the script as it was written fast because of the writers strike, mainly to add character "stuff" for her and Shia amongst the giant robots.
And what is Michael Bay's main directorial input to Megan? "His main note to me is just to look hot; so I try my best.""We are here. We are waiting." Ken

First Look at Transformers' Sideswipe Story link with image: www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=51862Back in August of '08, it was reported that the mystery car that was spotted on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen set was GM's Corvette Centennial Design Concept. A month later, reports said that the car will be the Autobot Sideswipe, who was a Lamborghini in the original cartoons. Now, a user at TF08.net has posted a photo of Hasbro's figure that gives you a good look at what the robot will look like in Michael Bay's film, opening in conventional and IMAX theaters on June 26.Ken

Bay Pushing the Limits of VFX for Transformers 2www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=54124Variety has published a new article talking about how director Michael Bay is demanding things to be "awesome" for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Here's a clip:
"Michael took the production value up many, many notches," he says. "Just the backgrounds alone are huge. It's a combination of 'Apocalypse Now' and 'Ben-Hur,' in regards to fantastic backgrounds and the unbelievable sets we worked at around the world."
Everyone involved in "Revenge of the Fallen" is keeping the details under wraps, but Farrar says there are some 60 robot characters, and they play in settings around the world. Some, like refineries at night, were chosen to boost the visual drama and show off the scale of the giant 'bots.
What's more, this time the Transformers will interact much more with the world around them. Farrar highlights "the splashes and the hits and the fighting on dirt or moving, banging into trees," explaining, "Things splinter and break, they spit, they outgas, they sweat, they snort."Ken

Bay Says Spielberg Thinks Transformers 2 is "Awesome" www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=54491Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen director Michael Bay says the film's executive producer, Steven Spielberg, thinks Bay's cut is "awesome" and that the new trailer will be released with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Bay posted the following on his message board, :
Steven Spielberg sat next to me in a big 100 person theater at Sony today. There were 98 empty seats. The lights came up after we just watched my cut of Revenge of the Fallen. He turned to me and said "It's awesome". He felt this movie was better then the first - and probably my best, who knows - at this point in a movie you start to lose your objectivity. I just hope the fans like it. I'm going to start putting it in front of audiences in a few weeks - no you are not invited, yet.
We have 60 days left. Let me tell you it will be a race to finish. It's 12 at night and we are still working here in the edit room. Everyone at ILM and DD are killing themselves right now, they are doing a stellar job on the effects. We also just finished our trailer which is coming out with Wolverine. Talk to you soon.Ken

I certainly feel that I got my money's worth from seeing this film. I think it had about 100 times the energy and action of KOTCS which tells me that Spielberg is still capable of producing a fun film if he's working with the right people.
