Hey, When Tony Stark is held hostage, the terrorists are adamant that he make a Jericho missile for them. They supply him with tools and materials and stuff. Later on, we learn that Stane has been supplying the terrorists with a ton of high tech Stark weapons..up to and including...Jericho missiles!!!
Therefore, wouldn't that totally negate the desperate need of the terrorists for Tony Stark to build the missile?! Obadiah Stane had already been supplying them!!!
Did I miss something or did the writers have their heads up their collective butts to totally overlook this little error??
Am I missing something?! Someone please "school" me if I am missing something.

Though I'm not sure it is addressed in the film, I believe the reason for this is that Stane did not have access to the missiles yet as Stark was only showing them off for the first time to the military...those missiles may well be the only ones in existance at that time.

Hmmmm, a plausible explanation. Perhaps your right. Based on that logic, the terrorists must have known that they'd get them soon afterwards though, no?! I think that this particular plot device was researched minimally and poorly executed. I do love the film though!! I am going to pick up the novelization and see if its explained there. Lord knows that it wouldn't be the first time that stuff was cut from a film, thereby throwing the continuity out of kilter.

I agree, poor plot structuring. Favreau should really have caught that in editing.

actually i have a different explanation......... first of we fined out that Tony was being set up by Stane, but the terrorists wanted more money so they would not kill him until they had more. so....why not have him make an extra Jericho missile for them as they wait, but then they get an idea......from the one that Tony makes, they could make the missile on their own using his plans. they mite have seen Tony as a chance to get rid of Stane because they would not need him. that ment they would be free to make as many as they wanted. so its like kill 2 birds with one stone. but all this backfires so they do need Stane help, and we now haw that ends up. any ways just what i think

Now didn't the terrorists say to Stane that they didn't know realize that it was Stark that they were ambushing? Sheesh, I don't remember now..I may need to watch it again..with a notebook this time.
