I don't know if using "gear" was the right term to use but..."Oh, well..." ;D I went out shopping this weekend and decided to buy some other "adventure" type clothing. Stuff besides my Indy gear that I can wear out hiking or any other outdoor activity. Face it I love my Indy gear but wearing to much of it at once out in public can put you in the spotlight really quick. While I was out I had my "namesake's" color scheme in mind while I was looking at clothes. So I ended up finding some clothes that I liked and that also kind of fit what Pitfall Harry might wear IF they made a movie out of him. Other than maybe the green shirt the character himself isn't really well defined like Indiana Jones is. I mean Indy's got the hat, whip and jacket....With Pitfall there's a lot of room for interpretation. Anyway......long story short. Here's some shots of me in my new "Pitfall" style clothes. I threw on the backpack in the one shot for the heck of it and grabbed my Airsoft revolver. I didn't have the cash to spend on some new "modern" guns to use or add holsters like I wanted. I probably would also add a different backpack as well. It's a work in progress and something else to work on when I'm not collecting Indy stuff. By the way I love these cargo pants and I plan on buying some more. They're a lot more comfortable than the jeans I usually wear around.

Cool shots, Harry! But your hair is not screen-accurate, better grab some dye. ;D Seriously though, looks like you got yourself some cool new duds. I'm with you on the cargo pants vs. jeans as well. I never liked jeans myself...the cargo pants are more comfortable and useful (extra pockets and all). Now, get to work on that screen-accurate hair and post some more pics! ;D -GCR

And a torch! I like cargo pants alot myself (and cargo shorts), for the extra comfort and pockets they provide. It's a functional look for an adventurer, hiker, or just regular dude doing regular dude things. I like the alternate gear looks and you choosing to put together a Pitfall Harry setup works very well. Now..... how about a vine to swing from an that torch? Ken

Thanks guys. I've been toying with the idea of making a real torch for a long time now. I didn't want to alarm the neighbors though or accidently burn my self or catch my shed on fire. I guess I'll have to wait until I'm out in some remote location. Then if anything does go wrong at least my stuff is safe....What's it matter if a few 1000 acres of forest burn down? ;D ;D The vine thing is going to be a little bit harder to do.....there's not to many jungles here in Indiana. As far as the hair goes I don't think I'll be going for a SA look. Harry can keep his hair style. I will admit though I'm badly in need of a haircut which I'm going to get sometime this week. It's getting warmer out here so it's time for a shorter hair style. If anything maybe these pics will help someone who's looking to put a modern style "adventure outfit" together. I just wish I would have had some better props to use for some of the shots.

I know you probably already thought of this but, you could find the right piece of wood or whatever as the torch base. Then just add the fire in PS to be safer. The time I did that with an Indy photo, I was holding a maglight and actually made a torch base and fire in PS. It would be much more realistic and alot easier to do, if you had the actual torch in your hand and just added flame during processing. You can find photos of fire pretty easily online, so it should work out nicely. If you really wanted to swing for a shot (not like Austin Powers either ), you could use a rope and turn that into a vine in PS as well. I used a rope and made it into my whip in a PS shot too, though I need to do one in brighter lighting sometime. Just throwing out some ideas to help, though you probably had these in mind already. Ken Yeah, I remember your pic and I thought it was cool how you did that and I was going to try that myself. I ended up getting sidetracked with something else and never got around to it. I was also thinking if I could just find a large enough stick and use one of my old towels I could make one myself........then the whole "burning myself or my house" creeped into my head. Whichever route I end up taking in either my "Pitfall" or "Indy" gear I've got to find a better location than my crappy yard before I do any new "action" pics. I'd also love to do a rope swing pic but I need to find a better location for that as well. The tree in my yard really wouldn't work even if I did have rope. It's to close to the house and the lowest branch isn't really thick enough to swing from. So maybe I can find a park around here that has a good "swinging" location that I'm not going to attract a crowd of nosy people. ;D Thanks for the ideas though.
