These are cool replicas but all instructions are written in Japanese and you must do a little modifying filing etc to get them to work. They are mostly just for looks as repairs will be frequent if fired alot!

Though I know I should get the Todd replica, i reall can't afford $200. right now..
I am intrigued by the "speedytoys" TDS and UHC airsoft revolvers...
They are so cheap..$19..-$35. that I can't believe that they would past muster even as a costume gun.
Has anyone had these pistols??... also, which one is better, the gas or spring powered?? (as far as realism goes) I don't really care about shooting them. How real do they look in person?
I realize they are not exact dupes..but I cannot find ANY other replica that is closer and not over $150.
THANKS..

I realize they are not exact dupes..but I cannot find ANY other replica that is closer and not over $150. THANKS.. I think the best "bang for your buck" (no pun intended) airsoft or replica Indy gun out there is probably the Bell M10 or the HFC 131. They are virtually identical looks wise, and while neither is an exact replica of Indy's S&W from Raiders, they come pretty close. BELL www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_489&products_id=28485HFC www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_489&products_id=24971I'm not even sure if there's any real difference other than the brand name on these two. One might be a bit better quality-wise as an airsoft, but if you're like me, and you just wanted something life-like to plop in a holster or put on display, either one should work. I do know the BELL version has an easily removeable orange plastic plug tip, while I think the HFC might have a painted tip, which could be harder to remove or cover up. Other than that, they're pretty much the same deal. They function realistically, the cylinders swing out, the hammer cocks back, the gun can be fire single or double action and it comes with 6 dummy shells that fit into the cylinder. There are a fair number of metal parts to give the gun a little added weight, so it doesn't seem like a resin gun or a toy, but it's still not as hefty as a real gun would be. With some work, they can actually look nice and worn like Indy's well used sidearm in Raiders. Here's mine. I distressed it and added a homemade lanyard loop to the base of the grip. (Keep in mind only the barrel, trigger, hammer, rod under the barrel and cylinder release are metal, the rest is plastic that was painted to look like heavily worn steel.) For only $60 bucks, this is really a steal for anyone looking for a decent / realistic & close-enough Indy gun.

GCR!!! WOW..again you come through...
I looked for hrs on the net and only found todds and the speedytoy ones.....
How did you distress it, ans where did you get the lanyard ring? (the pistol seems to have a threaded receptacle for a ring already drilled)
BTW: Got my Fed IV today...
Went about bashing it. It was a bit harder than my grey hat which I just realized is not a fed IV but an original Fed. It has no "IV" on the hat band.
The Fed IV is a softer felt or hasn't been stiffened as much as the grey hat.
I also found that the crown is lower and the brim seems wider, so I had to do a bit of adjusting to get the look.
I sat on it once, and then fiddled and fiddled to where I was finally happy. I did a deep center dent but left it a bit rounded in the back. No matter how I tried, I just couldn't seem to get the dent looking symmetrical from the back, so the hat has a bit of a teardrop dent, but only slightly.
Tomorrow I will dust it. Someone suggested to use Fuller's Earth and as I have some in my garage, I may try it. However, since it is clay based, I wonder if my hat gets wet, would it turn to mud? In that case, it would be a real problem to clean...(I don't think Indy had THAT problem in the desert)

There's a new source for (FINALLY!) an Indy-Style BLANK-FIRING Gun! It's Keystone Arsenal's Indiana Jones Smith & Wesson Mk II Hand Ejector "Cairo Gun". They're also coming out with a Webley Mk IV, and they have other things of interest to an Indy Fan like 2 1/2 Ton Trucks (Close-Enough for the Raiders Trucks) and Motorcycles (Close-Enough for the Crusade Motorcycles). Please, Ken, add this page to the list of Where to Buy Guns! Steven

I just ordered an Enfield replica from Tokyo Cental Hobbies that I'll be converting to a Webley Green Model. I have a resin kit of a Green that I bought on ebay from Wade Egan and while it's top notch quality, I also want one with moving parts. I just got a Denix all Metal MK IV in the mail today. Looks pretty good and the weight is nice, but kind of cheaply made.

They're also coming out with a Webley Mk VI... Only one problem, Indy carried a Webley WG. If the WG was ever to be made as an airsoft pistol, oh boy... *starts to drool* -Josh

Yeah, I know Indy carried a Webley-Green, and I know the product isn't even a Mk VI, but a Mk IV. But it's close enough. Their "Hand Ejector II" doesn't look too accurate either. From the picture, it looks like a Colt to me. And it looks like a child's holding it: And, sure enough, the image url calls it a Colt Model New Service Revolver. Steven

Yeah. One would be better off getting a Todd's S&W. It's the correct model for a much better price.

Actually, this one's cheaper than the Todd's as of now. $189 compared to the $219 of the Todd's Bapty. The Todd's is still more accurate, though. However, if somebody came out with a decent Stembridge (Or any Stembridge at all), I'd definitely buy it.

I got the Enfield Kit from Tokyo Toy Distributions. It's a great piece and came fully assembled. It also came with six metal cartridges that can be opened up and loaded with 7mm caps. You can open the top break release lever and load the cartridges in the cylinder, then close the pistol up and fire away. It features single action and double action, meaning you can pull the hammer back into position and fire, or you can just pull the trigger and the hammer will strike every time you pull the trigger. One other neat feature is that it has a shell ejector mechanism so you can fling the cartridges out when you're done firing. I do have a resin WG kit, and the Enfield is smaller than it, but I'm going to try my best to convert the Enfield into a WG. This way I have a screen accurate one (the resin kit) and a functional one. I just have to find out if Todd's costumes caps are compatible with the Enfield.....

If they're 7mm, then they should work fine. Congratulations, and let us know how it goes! BTW, you might want to start a new thread for this project, once you get underway. Steven

Cool! You can upload videos on Photobucket! BTW, it looks like with the right measurements, you can get a pretty darn good WG lookalike out of combining those two. Steven

So my order of 7mm caps arrived from Todd's Costumes. They are real loud and give a great effect. The problem is the pistol itself. It tends to jam up and the cylinder doesn't align with the hammer well enough to get the cap to fire. The kit came assembled, but I think I'll have to take it apart, check all the internals, lubricate any that need it and reassemble it. Either way it will make a great pistol base on which to convert to a Webley Green look-a-like. I did manage to get my hands on a Rook Webley Green Al Resin pistol, so that will be my screen accurate gun!

I did end up purchasing one of those before. I wasn't happy with it and decided to go with the Enfield kit instead which I'll eventually be converting to a WG look-a-like. The Denix is the closest you can get in an all metal replica to the WG for an Indy Replica, but falls far short compared to the two I currently own. I ended up selling my Denix a while back now. That's not to discourage people from purchasing it, and in fact I think the best price you can get for it is from Atlanta Cutlery who just started carrying it.
