Well, since this isn't working for me, I regretfully am selling my A-2 in the Classifieds section. I hate to do it, but I'm using the funds to finance another A-2 that is more to my measurements. 'Blues

Well, I'm actually contemplating selling this A-2, sadly. I've been wearing it on and off since I got it, and I think the sleeves are too short. The body fits perfectly, and I love the length, and overall look, but as soon as I raise my arms, to work, to drive, whatever,...the sleeves ride up, and the back feels tight. I may have to go up a size, or maybe just look for a 46Long, from the same, maker, COOPER. You folks that own A-2s,....do you find your jackets fit this way?? Kind of short in the sleeves? I'm wondering if this is normal for this style jacket. 'Blues Well, sold my A-2, bought a replacement, same jacket, one size bigger. The body fits perfect,..the sleeves are the perfect length,....as soon as I rise my arms forward,...BAM! The same damn thing! The back gets tight and restricts the movement of my arms, and the sleeves ride up. I can't win!! I really want an A-2, but damn if I'm at my wits end. looks like I'll have to go the "brand new" route, and buy a USWings or a G&B. Sigh 'Blues

Aww man! That sucks! Is it just the design in general that's not working out, or the particular way a manufacturer chooses to connect certain parts? Sorry you had to go through this, Ken

That's what i'm wondering, Ken. I have a feeling it's the "Cooper" way of attaching the sleeves to the body. This is a real drag, because I lost money selling the first one($25), and will probably lose money again selling this one. Now I wish i would have jumped on the USWings sale a few weeks ago. I was going to buy one of their US made A-2 2000 models. At least I could have exchanged it if it was wrong. 'Blues

Blues, I hate to say it, but its the design in general. The A-2 is a trim fitting jacket and without underarm gussets and action pleats they will ride up.

I wear my A-2 all the time. It is the one I grab when I head out the door. I still wear my Wested and FS Expedition, but the A-2 has always been my favorite. I got a steal on my A-2. I have the Real McCoys (New Zealand) in horsehide with some Flying Tigers patches, along with an 8th Army Air Corp patch on one sleeve. The one I have retails for around 1400 bucks, and I picked it up for a cool 800 bucks on ebay a few years ago. It was brand new when I got it, never broken in and still smelling strongly of newly tanned horsehide. (it has it own smell)
Prior to this I had owned an LL Bean model(inaccurate) and an Aero. What I like about the Real McCoys is the trim fit. The original ones were cut trim but many you see today are blousy fitting. Mine has gussets with eyelets for ventilation in the armpit area. I think these Real McCoys use the original patterns and specs as the originals. There were several patterns used by different companies who were contracted to make the originals. Dubow was one of them. Fedora
