This 'Indy' style jacket is not a very good looking piece. Why would they ruin the look of it with that ridiculous storm flap made from a separate piece of leather. I could be wrong here but it doesn't look like it has a bi-swing back either. As for the goatskin A-2, too bad there is no picture of the back. Real A-2s have a one piece back, but a lot of knock offs are made with two or even three piece backs. The only positive thing about both of these jackets is the low price.

Once again, not shooting for dead-on accuracy, just an Indy inspired jacket I could wear for long trips and my personal adventures. After all, who would want to ruin a perfectly good Wested? haha

Eh, you can get A2s so cheaply used at just about any thrift store. Shop around.

If you are looking for an A-2 jacket, check out these websites. These companies make excellent period correct jackets. Even if you don't buy from them, you will get a good idea of what an A-2 should look like. Most WWII and pre WWII A-2s were made from horse hide, but some were made from goat. They did not have side hand warmer pockets, and also did not have any inside pockets, and again, a one piece back. It is the simplicity of its design that makes it one of the most beautiful jackets ever made. Having an original one in good shape is like money in the bank. www.eastmanleather.com [UK company], www.aeroleatherclothing.com [UK company], www.gibson-barnes.com , www.uswings.com , and if you want the very best, and maybe the priciest, go to www.goodwearleather.com [lots of pics]. I have a beautiful Indy jacket, and now saving up for an A-2. Not only is the A-2 a really great jacket, but it has a really great history. Even if it takes a lot longer, get the real thing. It will make you feel great. Guaranteed.

Thanks for the links. But im not sure i want to spend that much on one really, even though im sure they would make me feel great, but i would feel damn guilty spending so much on something i dont really need, just i fancy one and its link with Indy.
What company are you getting your one from if you dont mind me asking and what Indy jacket have you got......wested im assuming.?

My jacket was made at Gibson & Barnes. Look at my thread in this section: 'Gibson & Barnes Really Did It This Time.' Lots of photos. The absolute best jacket I have ever had. Thank you for asking.

But i just bought that amazon one for £121 which isnt too bad i think considering, but having just said that, that is a lot of cash for me. I think it looks ok for my needs though. But i noticed today a lot of girls wear short leather jackets indy style when im walking around art galleries and public places. Girls seem to love wearing leather jackets i noticed.

Ah what the hell. I went ahead and bought it and im enjoying every minute of it! Even though it is summer, Im still getting that nice fresh smell of leather. It is definitely cowhide and well made (in my opinion; it is seemingly flawless). The snaps on the storm flap really arnt that much of a bother as well as the buckle notches on the adjusting strap on the sides (where the regular d-rings would go on our more familiar Indy Jackets). Over all though, a good looking jacket. A very comfy, tailored fit; its especially nice to get something in my size since Im a 36S haha Though I am disappointed that it didn't have pockets behind the front two cargo pockets... I usually put my hands in those things when I have nothing else to do with my hands... I suppose I'll start to put them in my pants pockets. Oh well, always room for some adjustments later on for consumer happiness. The liner is also pretty tough looking. It is surely thick and well woven for a nice warm fit. It also comes with two inside chest pockets (one on the right and left) and a heavy duty zipper. In other words ladies and gents, if you want a good looking, good fitting Indy inspired jacket, this guy is the man!

Heh... I'm also a 36S. Never find much in my size, though. There is a Wested in that size on their clearance page right now. But it doesn't tick off enough boxes on my screen accurate checklist to make me want to plunge for another jacket just yet. All of my jackets are 38R's right now. I just roll the cuffs and they fit decently enough. Roomy, sure... ....more like an LC fit in that regard, but not too bad.
Anyway, let's see some pictures of what you got. You mind?
