I got my Skechers for $35!! I think IF you buy them off the net your going to pay $75 for them. I'd encourge people to check their local stores first.

Hey Pitfall, Thats good news, I have been considering ordering a pair of the Sketchers you have. I'm going to swing by the mall and see if I can find them for a lower price. Thanks for the tip. Sincerely, Prof.Wex

Not a problem. I just didn't want to see people get burned and spend to much on line if they can find them locally for a much cheaper price. Mine are called "Traffic" but there is another pair out there just like mine that have a different name and a black soles on the boots. I believe they're work boots. If I would have known about those I think I would have bought them first. Although, my boots are so dirty now that you don't even notice the lighter sole.

Hey Guys, I just wanted to give an update on these Johnston and Murphy boots. well I bought them Aug. 26th 2007 and they looked like this: and after four months of everyday wear and tear they look like this: So I'm happy to say these boots are tough and very comfortable. I will certainly buy another pair in the future. All the stitches are intact and the leather seems to be as durable as the day I bought them. I love the way they have broken in. great pair of boots. Sincerely, Prof.Wex

Those really are looking nice now. I think you made a great choice on these. BTW, how did you canvas Indy jacket ever come out? Or did you put it on hold? Also, any new Indy paintings or any kind of paintings? Just curious, as I know many people might also wonder. Ken

Hey RB, Glad you like the boots, they are very comfortable. Well, as it turns out I had to put my jacket project on hold, as well as my painting. I was getting really bad headaches and was sick to my stomach on a daily basis. The bad part is I may be allergic to turpentine, I think it was causing me to be sick. So I put everything on hold till I could figure out what was making me sick. I have been searching for a new medium to paint with and I think Ive settled on Shiva's Casein paints. They are a milk based paint that are close to oils but you don't need turps, just water. Casein paints are one of the oldest now paints, infact cave paintings were done with the same type of paint. So I know they stand the test of time. Now that its a new year and im feeling a little better, Im going to get back to my jacket project and finish up the Indy paintings I started last year, only they wont be oil paintings, so it should be interesting to see how my style will be affected by this major change. Sincerely, Prof.Wex Ive been painting with oils for 15 years, Casein paints, only 2 months, so with the new year comes change But I welcome the challenge.

Wow, Wex...good to see you around these parts! Sorry to hear about your troubles...I hope it's nothing serious. Best of luck with the switch in paints, I hope it works out and you're able to get back to doin' what ya love. Those boots look awesome, by the way! Nicely broken in and VERY Indyish! Well done! -GCR
