Hey all! I recently purchased this from a gear friend in Denmark...It took less than a week to arrive, and is a GREAT bit of gear to get before Winter sets in...It's the rucksack from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull...Well, a modern repro of the same...And a very well done reproduction it is too! In the film the bag has the "HJ" tag on the top flap, but I have a friend here in Japan who has made those for gearheads here, and I feel sure I can impose on him to cut me one sometime? We'll see! We all know Indy has his "shoulder bag", but I always see any would be adventurer needing at least a backpack as big as this one...They're invaluable in treks and stays outside...So for him to not have had one would be the strange thing...This really does flesh out the character some I feel.. The ruck itself is a delight....Feels solid enough to load a lot of stuff into for walking and the straps are very comfortable too..The new details are lovely too...Very well made gear all in all! And at the price I bought it for was well worth it... Some more photos for those out there who are thinking about getting something like this..... The bag from the front: Close up of the side pocket: The straps: The other side with the Mil-Tec logo: Very cool bag....Now all I need are the "HJ" tags to go on it! Regards..

I have a genuine German rucksack from WWII. It looks similar to Indy's bag in Crystal Skull but it has webbing and plastic buckles where Indy's bag and yours has leather and buckles. I am very happy with my bag and it has proved invaluable in the field. Nice bag by the way.

I just added the "HJ" tag to the bag...The tag was given to me by a good friend here in Japan, Ito Motohisa...And I love the way it looks on this bag! It needs some distressing, but that aside, I think it makes the bag really work so well!

It's a company called Mil-Tec, if you searched for that you might hit some of the same bags?
I got mine through a great guy in Denmark...On COW he uses "Nihil" as his avatar name, perhaps send a message to him there?
But a search online for "Mil Tec bags" might work just as well..

Great bag Ben. I've used mine frequently for the last 3 years and it is still just as tough as when i got it.

Great looking bag! Certainly a bag that an adventurer could use. I'd like to get one of those as well to go with my gear.

Noah, It's worth it...The space inside the bag is huge...And there's a seperated area where I can store the whip flat as well..Or papers etc....
Very useful bag I've found....If I HAD to choose one thing bad about it, the only (small) complaint I could have is that it takes time to open the straps and extend the shoulder straps...But that's because we live in the 21st century...Not because it's "bad".....Just not as easy as modern designs..
The bag is well worth it..

I managed to get a repro by MFH. Does anyone know the major differences between it and the Mil-Tec?

I have one the surplus bags that is "weathered" really nice. I got a while ago at Billings, MT Surplus store for about $45. I had another guy make a name tape for me that says "CJ", as those are my initials. I packed for a 6 day trip in that and the MKVII bag.
